Why Brendoncare Clubs?
Brendoncare aims to improve the quality of life for older people, and our growing local network of social/activity clubs is vital in combating loneliness and social isolation. They enable our members to develop relationship networks and each club aims to respond to the interests, needs, aspirations and choices of every individual.
Our Driving Service
Our volunteer clubs drivers are integral to our clubs team as many of our members would be unable to attend without the transport offered. And it’s not just about the driving; friendships are formed, fun and laughter experienced on the journeys to and from the clubs. We’re currently looking for more people to get involved in your local area.
Who are you?
You are someone who enjoys driving, and is safe and confident behind the wheel. You will have approximately four hours to give on a weekly or fortnightly basis. Using your own car, you will offer door to door transport to small groups of club members.
What is required?
You must be an experienced and competent driver, with access to your own vehicle
Able to operate on your own and as part of the Volunteering team
Enjoy meeting people
Willing and able to operate within safeguarding boundaries
Willing to complete an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
Have a full UK driving licence and car insurance covering you to undertake the role
What are the benefits for you?
The volunteer driver role offers the opportunity to be part of a team and to carry out your role independently. A full induction, role-related Member Assistance, Health and Safety and ongoing training are all provided. We will reimburse your travel costs at .45p per mile, plus passenger allowance.
This is a fantastic opportunity to give something back to the community, and experience the positive impact your service can bring to help improve the lives of older people in your area.
