Job description

Trust fundraising is one of our key income streams - when the pandemic hit, and our usual fundraising could not take place, trust letters and grant applications became an essential way to share our work, tell our stories, and gain support.

This income stream remains vital, especially as the cost of living crisis impacts our supporters, and we need you to help sustain it, and our future.You can volunteer from home provided you have access to a computer and internet, and you will need a reasonable knowledge of Microsoft office.

Duties include:

  • Research into potential trusts and foundations for grant applications and appeals
  • Maintain relevant documents and keep the database up to date
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information at all times
  • Apply to small family trusts with the guidance of the Regional Trusts Lead
  • Write thank you letters to supporters in acknowledgement of their gifts
  • Help with mailings when required

You will need:

  • Access to a computer and internet if you wish to volunteer from home
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent writing/grammar skills
  • A friendly and professional telephone manner for calling solicitors
  • Initiative to recognise other potential leads and identify networks and opportunities
  • An ability to commit to weekly volunteering

From helping with thanking our amazing donors, to researching potential new partnerships, this is an exciting opportunity for you to get involved in the vital planning and administrative tasks which keep our team going. This role can be undertaken from home providing you have access to a suitable pc or laptop, or in a British Red Cross office (subject to availability).

  • Supporting with thanking donors, and other vital admin tasks
  • Researching and contacting local business and organisations
  • Helping with the organisation and promotion of a variety of projects
  • Contacting volunteers and supporters

The skills you need

  • Enthusiasm!
  • The ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
