Job Description

We have the opportunity for two Campaign Assistants to join our public fundraising team for our biggest ever appeal! The successful candidates will gain valuable experience and provide support for our  Individual Giving, Community Fundraising and International Volunteering Programmes and have the opportunity to make a real impact. . Who are we? A  charity dedicated to empowering some of the most vulnerable children in the world by giving them the chance to go to school and giving their families the sustainable means to keep them there.  This is your chance to be a part of our dynamic team! 

Main tasks may include, but are not limited to:

Individual Giving

  • Contribute to the creative thinking and strategy behind our newly launched programme: Schools for Tomorrow.

  • Produce engaging and snappy content for the Schools for Tomorrow ‘live feed’ campaign page

  • Be one of the friendly voices of Street Child in our donation thanking process

International Volunteer Programme 

  • Coordinate pre-departure preparations for our outgoing international volunteers & support them to meet their fundraising goals. 

  • Support on creative marketing and communications, such as recruitment campaigns and social media content

  • Liaise with international staff and volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the programme

Community Fundraising

  • Inspire & support our amazing community groups as they undertake exciting fundraising activities on behalf of Street Child

  • Research new community groups & build relationships to engage them with Street Child’s work

  • Use your creative skills to develop engaging and inspiring new fundraising resources. This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates looking to take their first steps in the charity sector, and to gain experience at  an international development organisation

Person specification:

  • Interest in international development and/or fundraising

  • Strong academic credentials

  • Motivated and proactive, with the ability to take initiative and work independently

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a highly professional manner via telephone and email. Able to summarise complex information clearly and concisely and tailor their writing style to a variety of audiences.

  • Strong administrative skills

  • Good people skills, with the ability to work across multiple teams and build relationships with different supporter groups

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Excel) and G Suite

  • The ability to be flexible, work outside specific duties, have fun and laugh along within a stretching and challenging environment

  • Previous experience of fundraising and/or volunteering abroad is desirable but not essential

The Terms

We are looking for someone able to join us for the full 3-month campaign for at least 3 days a week. The role is on a voluntary basis, but travel expenses up to £12 per day will be reimbursed. We are also happy to discuss flexible working arrangements, such as off-peak hours or working from home.
