Volunteer Coordinator (Voluntary position)

Community Activities Project Ealing (CAPE) was founded 21 years ago, to meet the needs of individuals living with mental health needs in the local community. Our founding service was a safe place in the form of a Café where people could meet and take up peer support. This service continues to this day. However, over the years we have recognised that we are working with a wide range of needs that have an impact on an individual’s mental health and well-being, so we have developed and continue to develop a suite of services to respond to a wide range of needs. We focus on the individual not just the diagnosis, which encourages us to recognise that each person is different and has complex needs and so our response needs to be multi-layered.

CAPE is a growing and thriving charity. We believe in serving our local community, creating a positive experience for our volunteers. As a volunteer you will be joining a small dedicated team, supporting and endorsing our values and working alongside our client and community volunteers.   

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic Volunteer Coordinator to help ensure we fulfil our ambitious plans. Volunteers are critical to the success of CAPE, and as our fundraising activity and the demand for our service grows, so does the need for capable, skilled, empathetic, engaging and committed volunteers.

We are looking for someone who has had experience of managing volunteers or been a volunteer yourself and know what a good experience looks like. You will work with colleagues to ensure we provide an attractive and flexible volunteer experience.

 The role we are looking to fulfill

 Key Responsibilities;

•Work with the CEO, Co-production and Development Coordinator and Psychotherapy Manger and other colleagues including our trading arm to develop and implement the volunteering strategy. We want to grow the number of volunteers and to diversify the type of volunteering opportunities CAPE offers.

•To promote volunteering opportunities, recruit and induct new volunteers to the charity

•Work with the CEO to develop consistent policies and processes to support volunteers and comply with relevant legislation and volunteer management best practice

 •Build the capability of managers and team leaders to support and enable the growth in volunteering numbers, encouraging opportunities across our services and offices, to build organisational capacity

•Ensure volunteering is considered, promoted, measured and celebrated across CAPE by championing the role of volunteers

•Demonstrate the impact of volunteering across our services by measuring and reporting on outcomes
