Volunteer Befriender Chippenham

We passionately believe no one living in a care home should feel lonely or isolated, and our befrienders help keep residents connected to their community. If you live in Chippenham and can spare an hour a week we'd love to hear from you.

Studies have shown that regular social contact with individual residents can make a huge difference to their wellbeing, especially for those who receive few or no visitors at all. 

We work in partnership with local care homes who identify those most in need of companionship and we match our befrienders according to location and interests.

If you enjoy meeting new people, having everyday conversations, playing board games or reminiscing about the past please get in touch.  We are particularly in need of volunteers who speak Greek/Cypriot to connect with residents who may be more comfortable in their native language.

We'll cover the cost of an enhanced DBS check, full training is given and you'll have access to a dedicated volunteer co-ordinator who'll be on hand whenever you need them.
