Carers FIRST is a growing charity providing tailored information, advice and support to young people and adults who look after a relative or friend who could not manage without their help. We currently serve carers in six areas in the South East, London, East Midlands and East of England. Due to the expansion of our services and a review of our governance arrangements we are now looking to strengthen our board of trustees.
As a member of the board of trustees you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to people’s lives by helping overall governance, development and monitoring of our strategic goals, and supporting the team and volunteers in the delivery of our programmes.
Applicants will need to demonstrate that they have appropriate skills and experience, enjoy a collegiate working style and support the charity’s mission to support carers. Applicants will evidence that they have the personal skills to contribute successfully at a strategic level as an effective Board member, contributing to discussions and helping the charity think of new and improved ways of doing things.
The charity is especially, but not exclusively, looking for individuals who can offer functional experience in the following areas:
• Carer support or social care
• Human Resources
• Hard-to-reach communities
Please Note: Trustee positions are not remunerated. Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.
