CareTrade is a small multi-award winning London based charity that actively creates innovative opportunities to support young people with autism to reach their potential and lead more independent lives.We believe that being in employment is the biggest single factor that will transform the life of a person with autism and this has been the focus of our projects to date.
We have created a pathway for young people with autism to move successfully from education towards and into employment. Unlike schools or colleges, 75% of all learning takes place in real work environments. We work very closely and in partnership with businesses to make this happen.
57% of young people that complete 2 years with CareTrade have gone on into sustained paid employment of choice. CareTrade is seeking a Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees, to help guide and govern the charity over the next few years of growth and to chair our Finance and Risk Committee, have oversight of the charity's financial strategy, planning, systems and controls and to advise the CEO on financial matters as required. The ideal candidate will have suitable qualifications and professional experience, prior experience as a trustee and or chairing meetings/committees, strong communication and interpersonal skills, good independent judgement and ability to think creatively and a willingness to both support and challenge. An understanding of autism would be a benefit but is not essential.
