South West
Voluntary
Job description
About us

For over 70 years, we've been standing with the poorest of our neighbours. We work in countries across Africa, South America and Asia, with people of all faiths and none, to stand up for dignity, equality and justice. Together we can create a world where everyone can live a full life, free from poverty.

Our voices and actions are stronger together. And with your help, we can make an even bigger difference. Our faith demands that we challenge the injustices that keep people poor and marginalised. Standing together, we can tackle the root causes of poverty and challenge the systems that keep people poor.

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate volunteers to help us grow our campaigning work in Gloucestershire. Can you help us grow and mobilise a network of campaigners, to help challenge the systems and structures that perpetuate poverty and injustice? Training and expenses will be provided. Successful applicants would have an important role to play in supporting our ongoing campaigning work in the areas of climate change and tax justice, potentially organising campaigning meetings with the local MP. The time commitment would be flexible depending on what the successful applicant could offer.

About you

You will be a clear and effective communicator with the ability to inspire others to take action.

You will share Christian Aid's commitment to challenging and changing the systems that keep people poor.

You will have an interest in global poverty issues and believe that campaigning for justice can change people's lives.

You will understand the Christian context in which Christian Aid works, and be able to communicate effectively with a Christian audience.

You will be comfortable working with IT and social media and have access to a computer.
