We are looking for a visionary, strategic leader with experience and knowledge of the role of the VCSE sector in health and wellbeing to take up the role of Chair of the BOB VCSE Health Alliance.

About the project

The BOB VSCE Health Partnership project, as part of NHS England/NHS Improvement’s VCSE Leadership Programme, aims to facilitate better partnership working between health systems and the VCSE sector, and enhance the role of the sector in strategy development and the design and delivery of integrated care.

The project has launched an ‘alliance’, a network of non-profit or VCSE sector organisations that deliver on health, care and wellbeing priorities within the region, with mechanisms for feeding into all levels of decision making within the Integrated Care System.

About the role

The Chair of the Alliance will

  • provide leadership and direction to the VCSE Alliance and to enable the Alliance to both collaborate and connect effectively with a wide and diverse range of partners and stakeholders, on key issues affecting the VCSE Sector and the wider Integrated Care System (ICS) ambitions.
  • actively participate as a member of the ICS Partnership Board to represent the VCSE sector, as well as effectively and inclusively hearing the voice of the sector – from grass roots/mutual aid groups to large national charities from across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West to appropriately reflect these views to the membership of ICS Partnership Board.
  • take a leading role in directing engagement and collaboration opportunities to ensure timely and responsive involvement of the VCSE sector in the development of significant health and care proposals and plans across the BOB area.

About you

The successful candidate will have clear and demonstrable understanding of the current and emerging challenges and opportunities within the regional Health and Care system and the local Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise sector. 

The person will have experience leading meetings of strong personalities representing a diversity of views.

They will demonstrate authority and credibility and be a positive visible figurehead for the VCSE sector.
