Job description

CSSC is looking for volunteers to fulfil a variety of Regional Officer roles on its area boards. Regional Officers play a vital role in the organisation, helping to shape the local area offer.

Purpose of the role

Our Regional Teams play a vital role in supporting the work of CSSC across the UK. Providing a focal point for local CSSC volunteers to network, share good practice, collaboratively produce excellent member benefits and help facilitate the delivery of strategic goals.

What you will be doing

As a Regional Secretary, you will play a predominantly strategic role within the Region and the amount you do can vary depending on your time, skills and interests! However, as a minimum you’d be required to:

  • Arranging and organising meetings as required
  • Circulate the agenda after liaising with the Regional Chairman
  • Ensure minutes are taken, and that all action points are followed through by the delegated individual following each meeting
  • In conjunction with other volunteer team members, provide and maintain a programme of events that is accessible to all, and advertised accordingly through the appropriate CSSC channels and in accordance with the constitution
  • Ensure that all CSSC policies are distributed, understood and implemented

Skills, experience and qualities needed

We are an inclusive and friendly organisation with plenty of experienced volunteers and staff members on hand to support you with your role no matter what your background or experience. For this role it would be beneficial if you enjoy being organised and efficient, but if you have:

  • A knowledge of IT
  • A desire to make a difference to our incredible organisation and giving back to its members,
  • A positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • A willingness to learn and to support your community.
  • Live in the UK

What will you get out of volunteering with us?

As a volunteer, you’ll get to share your enthusiasm, take part in fun and interesting events, socialise and meet new people – and best of all, be part of a great, active community! But this is just the start! For more information on the benefits that you can get from volunteering - visit our website - CSSC.
