Neath Port Talbot
Job description

Pay a visit to Bethan and brighten up her week

Our member, Bethan, lives alone in the Neath area with her small dog Ben. Her husband is currently living in a nursing home and, due to her dual sensory loss, Bethan is finding herself spending most of her time alone at home feeling lonely and cut of from her local community. She is looking  for a friendly, chatty person to visit any evening of the week for coffee or a tea and a chat as she misses conversation very much. Maybe at some stage, you might even venture out for a local walk with the dog.

Bethan used to work as a nurse and enjoys gardening, cooking and reading. Some of her favourite authors include Jeffrey Archer, Daphne Du Maurier and James Herriott and she especially enjoys the Happy Potter books!

She communicates with clear speech but is hard of hearing and would require guiding outside of the house as she has poor balance. Full training will be provided.

No other experience is required simply the ability to chat, listen and have an interest in others. A short visit could make all the difference to Bethan's lonely days. Apply and be the change she so badly needs.....
