Be a friend to Gordon and brighten up his week
Our member, Gordon, is 74 and lives in the Waltham Forest area with his daughter. He has a number of interests and used to do an awful lot but has lost a lot of confidence in recent years. Sadly, he lost both his daughter and his wife within a short space of time five years ago and since then his hobbies have dwindled away. Gordon is looking for a home befriender, someone who could pay a visit and enjoy a chat over a cuppa and give him some garden inspiration.
Just some of Gordon's interests are motorbikes (he has four!) and a love of fishing and gardening. He has plum and hazelnut trees and is currently trying to grow blueberry bushes. He enjoys the wildlife visitors that come into the garden especially the goldfinches, has a fish pond with Koi Carp and an elderly rabbit. Technology interests Gordon and he has two cameras set up at home – one on the drive and another directed on his pond which he can watch on the TV.
Could you spare a couple of hours on a semi regular basis to pay a visit? Gordon finds himself spending more and more time alone and doesn't go out much at all. Having a link back into his local community and a friendly visitor could make a huge differnce to his life.
No experience is required just a warm heart and a friendly, chatty personality. Apply today.........
