Beryl is desperate for company and very lonely after the passing of her husband a year ago she  - could you be the one to make a difference?

 

Our Member Beryl, spent many years in Cornwall and returned in recent years to Wrexham area, she unfortunately lost year husband a year ago and struggling with grief. She finds days lonely and becoming more and more isolated and started to lack confidence in getting out. Beryl used to enjoy gardening, going out for lunch and playing bridge, ideally she would love a visit from a kind, friendly volunteer each week, for a cuppa and a chat, maybe even pop out or enjoy the garden in better weather. 

 

Beryl's mobility is good and doesn't have any other restrictive health needs, shes lonely  and needs a companion to share sometime with. No experience is necessary, just a kind heart and a chatty nature.

Qualities and Skills we are looking for:

 

We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Volunteers

Good communication skills, particularly with regard to conversational skills

To be reliable and have a genuine interest to make a difference in  lives of deafblind people

Patience and a warm and friendly attitude


What will we ask for in return?

 

A regular commitment of one weekly visit – usually 1-3 hours
We will need to undertake two references and a DBS check before this role can start
You will need to be over the age of 18 years to apply for this role
