Devas Club is a well-established youth club, community centre and charity offering opportunities to residents of London and focusing its work on disadvantaged young people aged 8-25 years. Founded in 1884, we have been based in our multipurpose building in Battersea, London Borough of Wandsworthsince since 1970. 

We have been providing activities for young people since we were founded. Devas Club sees itself as supporting all of a young person’s upbringing, and our stated aim is to develop self-reliant adults; all activities have the underlying theme that as young people and adults-in-waiting, whatever is organised for them at is judged against how it contributes to their eventual transition to adulthood.

If you're passionate about digital content and social media, you'll know how to write and create content to help get our organisational messaging across. Devas Club is a small youth club and charity, we are looking for a creative and proactive individual to help us update website content and develop content that conveys our work, what we do and who is involved. We just need you and your skills to bring our website to life.

Offering 3-10 hours per month, we are seeking an individual who will:

Web design and development: Explore the use free or affordable plugins/apps/tools to modernise our website aesthetic and content.

Copywriting: In collaboration with club operations staff and possibly one or two trustees. Help us effectively convey our message/brand by helping us capture our history, what we do and our activities for young people by writing engaging copy, including use of videos and pictures that will be provided.

Digitising Assets: Use free or affordable apps to help us digitise our assets including historical pictures from key activities and events at the club.

Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot website queries such regularly updating plugins, correcting bad links or 404 errors. May require SEO proofing content.

The interested individual will also have:

- Passion for the web/digital/social space

- Good ideas for good content

- Copywriting skills and experience

- Good attention to detail

- Creative with a positive attitude

- Understanding of confidentiality

- Work as part of a team via face to face interaction and remote working.
