VISUAL CONTENT CREATION VOLUNTEER

• We are seeking creative individuals to join our team as Volunteer Visual Content Creators. As a Visual Content Creator, you will have the opportunity to produce captivating images and graphics for marketing, social media, and webpage design purposes, helping to enhance the visual appeal of the Eyeniversum platform and attract users.

VIDEO CREATOR AND EDITOR

•  As a Video Creator, you will play a crucial role in crafting engaging marketing (especially Instagram and Youtube viral videos possibly) and informative videos for marketing and educational purposes, helping to promote Eyeniversum's mission and attract users to our platform.
• Volunteer 4-6 hours per week for 6 months.

Do you live in Wales and want to gain valuable skills, have new experiences, and support vulnerable people?

We are offering 1 young people aged 18-25 the opportunity to volunteer for up to 11 months with the Swedish Red Cross in Stockholm. The programme will run from September 2024 – August 2025.

You will be working on a range of projects, which will give you the chance to explore the different kinds of social action that the Swedish Red Cross undertake in Stockholm. This is a great opportunity to get involved in these projects and find out what you are interested in. For more details on the role and the projects available, have a look at the role description. The Swedish Red Cross Youth is excited to welcome two volunteers in collaboration with British Red Cross this fall. This opportunity offers volunteers the chance to contribute to the vital work of the Swedish Red Cross Youth in addressing the needs of youth in socio-economically vulnerable areas and strengthening the capacity of our volunteers nationwide and will also offer you an opportunity to volunteer in our breakfast clubs, homework help groups, support chats, tutoring sessions and other member meetings. The placement is in central Stockholm, at the Swedish Red Cross HQ. As a Volunteer in this programme, you will play a crucial role in supporting the activities coordinated by the Red Cross Youth, gaining valuable experience in community development, crisis management, and international collaboration. Your efforts will contribute to creating positive forums for young people in Sweden to network and foster a sense of community and empowerment.

Please note that only young people based in Wales can apply for this role. We are especially interested in applications from those who are from low socio-economic backgrounds, are carers or are care experienced, have accessed free school meals, are refugees or asylum seekers and those with disabilities or additional needs.

Plateful Café works to relieve poverty and isolation amongst refugees, asylum seekers and ethnic minorities in Lewisham. Our commitment is to reach the most vulnerable people in our community and open a pathway to employment for people who have asylum here. We are looking for someone to assist us with updating our website including the online shop, events page and blog. The website is a key part of Plateful Café, raising awareness about the barriers to work for refugees as well as helping to share our delicious products with a broad network. By joining the team you’ll be able to put your marketing and website design skills to great use, ensuring more refugees in South-East London can share delicious food.

About the role

We are looking for Digital Mapping Volunteers to support our Derbyshire Recovery and Peer Support & Living Well services and network.  You will be residing within Derbyshire community or surrounding area and, ideally, you will be able to commit up to 3 hours per week to volunteering.

The aim of our Community Mapping project is to provide easily accessible information on locations of other services, groups and community resources / assets available to our wider network.

You will work closely with a network of'nomad' volunteers across Derbyshire.  Nomad volunteers collect local grass roots information on support, points of interest and community assets available in the community were they live.  

As a Digital Mapping Volunteer, you will support other 'nomad' volunteers by updating the local information they collect on our digital Community Mental Health Support Map.

You will receive training and regular supervision to ensure you feel confident in your role.

About the service

Our Derbyshire services support people who are having difficulties with their mental health by offering targeted goal-focused support, developing peer support and volunteer opportunities across Derbyshire, and also peer support groups.

The aim of our service Digital Mapping Volunteers is to update and maintain the Digital Mental Health Support Map.  As part of the team you will support:

• Liaising with Group Development Workers and Community Mapping Nomad Volunteers for mapping information

• Network with other local services for updates and changes to community support

• Workshop and network ideas for improvement to the mapping service and user experience

About the role

The Bournemouth & Poole College’s activities are overseen by the Board of the Corporation. It is responsible for agreeing, supporting and scrutinising the delivery of the College’s strategy.

I need someone for admin, social media and IT guy.

As a Digital Champion you will provide support to our clients who struggle with IT and monitor our online peer support platforms. You will need to understand the importance of digital literacy to our clients. There will be a ‘referral’ system from keyworkers and staff members who will identify clients in need of digital support, while monitoring our Fuse and Discord platforms will be an ongoing task.

To be successful in this role you will have excellent communication skills, IT skills and a true passion and commitment to supporting vulnerable people to address their support needs and fulfill their full potential. The Forward Trust is committed to tackling ‘digital exclusion’ within our client base.

ACCOUNTABILITIES 

Service Delivery – Client support tasks:

• Provide remote support for clients who struggle with IT.
• Helping to build clients confidence and self-esteem with using popular digital technology.
• Monitoring Forward’s online peer support platforms to safeguard clients from inappropriate content
• Raising awareness of online services and the support available locally.
• Build a trusting and supportive relationship with clients.
• Listen to the clients concerns and work with them to overcome those. 

Forward Fuse:

Fuse is an online ‘learning and knowledge’ platform. It combines elements of social media with e-learning. Forward Trust uses it for clients to share peer support and receive news of events, activities and services.

• Supporting the Forward Fuse platform as a moderator outside of normal staff working hours – monitoring content and comments for breaking of the Ground Rules, and encouraging engagement.

Discord:

Discord is a digital messaging platform on which Forward clients can safely chat with others who share similar objectives around recovery and self-growth, sharing support and combatting isolation in the process.

• Supporting the Discord platform as a moderator outside of normal staff working hours – monitoring messages for breaking of the User Agreement

Additional tasks:

• Support with web coding (if you have relevant experience)
• Engage in support and supervision provided.
• To keep a good record of your work, including reporting verbally to their supervisor and completing relevant forms.

Village Solar creates jobs for rural marginalized women in off-grid, last-mile communities of Malawi through the distribution of clean energy products to low-income consumers. This means we recruit, train and offer ongoing business support to disadvantaged women, while also providing life-improving products to households in remote rural areas. In the rural areas of Malawi, a vast majority of households, schools, businesses and healthcare facilities do not have access to reliable electricity, and most operate without electricity at all. As a result, more than 17 Million people are losing their chance at a better standard of living, and are losing economic opportunities that could lift them out of poverty. Furthermore, poverty has a clear gender aspect. Compared to men, rural women face challenges in accessing decent work opportunities and struggle to translate their labor into secure and higher-paying employment.

We target underserved communities not being reached by the majority of current energy access programs. In these communities we recruit and train local women that belong to local Village Savings Associations (VSLAs) and bring them into our micro-entrepreneur distribution network. We provide them with in-demand products, primarily solar lamps and home systems, and compensate them on a commission basis. These women not only raise awareness of clean energy solutions but also serve as essential points of sale and provide post-sales support within their communities. We offer consumer financing that makes it easier for low income customers to afford our products.

WRITER

• Write compelling feature stories, explainers, and news articles related to clean energy entrepreneurship, women empowerment, and sustainable development.
• Volunteer 4-6 hours per week for 3-5 months

Heal Rewilding is recruiting their second Heal Future Advisory Panel after a successful two years in 2021-2022. This panel will be a national collective of individuals aged 18-25, who are actively involved in ensuring that Heal Rewilding is an inclusive and relevant organisation.

About the role

The panel has a range of roles and responsibilities, which can be tailored and expanded based on the unique interests and skills of the group. They will mainly work with Julia, the Community Engagement Manager, who will meet with the group regularly and facilitate activities. The majority of work will happen virtually with the occasional in-person meet up. There are SSAFA branches throughout the UK and overseas who support local volunteers to deliver services to veterans, serving personnel and their families. Some branches are divided into smaller divisions to ensure the best local service delivery. Each branch has a team of volunteer caseworkers, support volunteers, executive roles, and fundraisers.

Our clients, volunteers and supporters come from all backgrounds and age groups and want to engage with us in different ways too. To offer the best possible service we need to provide seamless communication, consistent messages, and accurate information. When would you be needed and where would you be based?

As part of your local branch, you might have access to an office, but many volunteers are based at home.

The role would suit someone looking for a flexible volunteering opportunity as times and days could fit in around work and other commitments to suit you.

There are SSAFA branches throughout the UK and overseas who support local volunteers to deliver services to veterans, serving personnel and their families. Some branches are divided into smaller divisions to ensure the best local service delivery. Each branch has a team of volunteer caseworkers, support volunteers, executive roles, and fundraisers.

Our clients, volunteers and supporters come from all backgrounds and age groups and want to engage with us in different ways too. To offer the best possible service we need to provide seamless communication, consistent messages, and accurate information. When would you be needed and where would you be based?

As part of your local branch, you might have access to an office, but many volunteers are based at home.

The role would suit someone looking for a flexible volunteering opportunity as times and days could fit in around work and other commitments to suit you.

What would you be doing?

• As part of a team of volunteers, maintain branch microsites and social media feeds.
• Look at ways to increase traffic to microsites and improve SSAFA’s digital brand.
• Keep content current and accurate.
• Support and maintain the SSAFA brand by consistently using our brand guidelines and tone of voice.
• Working with the digital marketing team, interpret analytical data to develop local communication plans.
• Working with local SSAFA branches, build social media channels and integrate on-line and off-line activity to best effect.

The remit of this role may change over the next 12-18 months depending on the outcome of a trial currently being undertaken.

• Mandatory on-line training modules to complete at home, so you are up to date on how to keep clients, their families safe and personal information safe.
• Support from our Digital Marketing team based at SSAFA Central Office.
• Training on our web platform
• Access to analytical tools and our digital marketing tool kit
• Induction covering all the aspects of SSAFAs services and the difference we can make to people’s lives.
• Reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses
• Volunteers will be covered by SSAFAs Public Liability Insurance whilst carrying out the role.

What are we looking for?

• Friendly and approachable people, possibly with some experience of digital marketing/ IT or social media
• Ability to write in English to a good standard.
• Ability to be respectful and non-judgemental with clients, supporters, volunteers, other agencies, and staff.
• Understanding of how social media can be used to engage and influence.
• Ability to use social media applications including adding and editing content.
• Basic understanding of website maintenance, training will be provided.
• Basic understanding of digital analytical tools, training will be provided.
