About the opportunity
The head garden volunteer loves to garden and is happy to lead our small team of garden volunteers. We don't have any formal gardens here on site, however we do have a small allotment garden and various areas of planting across the site.
The garden volunteer team look after the outside spaces at Dudley Canal and Tunnel Trust. This includes planting around the car park and Portal Building as well as the Gongoozler allotment garden. They also carry out more general maintenance and DIY tasks such as repairing picnic tables and chairs, painting within the building as well as making event props.
The volunteer will need to be able to use their own initiative to direct the garden volunteer team and see what tasks need doing on a weekly basis. Ideally we are looking for a volunteer who can help two or three days a week.

We run narrow boat trips along the canal, into the limestone caverns underneath Dudley's Castle Hill. Our core objective is
'The advancement of public education in the history, economy, geology and other features of the Dudley Canal Tunnel and inland waterways; in furtherance of these objectives the charity operates passenger vessels through the Dudley Canal Tunnel and other canals in the region.'
