Main Purpose of Job:
Join us in our mission to provide vital community support services by hosting engaging virtual events as part of Mast Cell Action's initiatives.

Main Duties:

• Host virtual events including a variety of different sessions and community support spaces with compassion and empathy.
• Introduce speakers, moderate Q&A sessions, and facilitate audience interaction enabling all attendees who wish to get a chance to speak.
• Manage technical aspects of virtual events, to ensure smooth execution.
• Send pre and post event emails using our event platform, TicketTailor
• Collate feedback and add to our quote bank
• Raise safeguarding concerns using internal processes and procedures
• Maintain confidentiality and follow charity policies and procedures
• Undertake relevant training 

Key Objectives:

• Host virtual events in a manner that captivates and engages the audience, keeping them interested and actively participating throughout the event.
• Reassure and validate participants' experiences whilst encouraging story-sharing.
• Manage the technical aspects of virtual events.
• Represent Mast Cell Action professionally at all times, demonstrating strong communication skills, reliability, and adaptability in a virtual environment.

Experience/Skills Required:

• Proven experience as a virtual event host, moderator, or similar role
• Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and adapt your hosting style to different event formats and audiences.
• Patience, empathy and compassion. Openness to support people from all backgrounds.
• Proficiency in virtual event platforms such as Zoom, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and effectively.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a remote team, demonstrating reliability, flexibility, and professionalism.

About Roots Academy

At Roots Academy, we’ve built a learning experience that’s changing the lives of the ummah’s future leaders, change-makers and visionaries.

Our vision is enabling university students to live God-centred lives, so we teach structured, engaging and transformative face-to-face foundational Islamic education to over 1,800 students across the UK.

Role Summary

Roots Academy is in the process of registering as a charity. As part of this process, the team are working towards creating policies, procedures and frameworks to ensure Roots is meeting charity governance requirements, and to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

The teams currently include:

• Executive team – will become the Trustee Board, once registered
• Leadership team – Team Leads include Finance, HR, Marketing, Fundraising, Academic, Delivery

As our Governance Lead, you will work closely with the Executive Team / Trustee Board, to establish a governance framework for the charity. You will also work closely with the relevant team leads to ensure each team has policies and procedures in place.

Key tasks

• Working closely with the Exec team, support the Trustee on-boarding process, to ensure all required documentation is obtained, and stored securely
• Support with trustee meetings, ensuring accurate record keeping of meeting agendas and minutes
• Manage registers; register of members of the board, register of interests, register of gifts, policy register, risk register, submitting to relevant regulators and responding to appropriate requests.
• Oversee the development of governance polices, such as Complaints Policy, Conflict of Interest Policy, Risk Management Policy, and Whistleblowing Policy.
• Work with the leadership team to ensure policies and procedures are in place, in line with best practice, and signed off by the Trustee board. This includes but is not limited to:
  • Finance policies: Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Anti-Money Laundering, Cash Handling, Due Diligence, Expenses, Reserves
  • Marketing & communications policies: Data Protection, External Communications & PR Policy, Social Media Policy, IT & Internal Communication Policy
  • Fundraising policies: Acceptance & Refusal of Donations Policy, Ethical Fundraising Policy
• Work with the People Team Lead to roll out HR and safeguarding policies and procedures
• Work with the relevant Team Lead to ensure Roots has all relevant insurances is in place – e.g. public liability insurance for fundraising events, travel insurance for trips abroad, employer liability insurance if employees are recruited in the future.
• Advise the board as necessary, keeping up to date with relevant laws and regulations, including but not limited to Charity Commission Regulations and the Fundraising Code of Conduct.

• Experience in charity governance  
• Experience with risk management
• Experience with conducting compliance audits desired but not essential
• Strong understanding of Charity Commission Regulations and the Fundraising Code of Conduct

Position Overview:
The Spiritual Arts Foundation is seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Charity Administrator / Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of charity law and regulations in the UK, along with extensive practical experience in setting up charities, Community Interest Companies (CICs), and Companies Limited by Guarantee (CLGs). In addition to possessing exceptional organizational and project management skills, the candidate should also have a genuine interest in spiritual subjects and a passion for making a difference in the world.

Responsibilities:

You will be required to:

• Provide expert guidance and support in the setup and registration of charities, CICs, and CLGs, ensuring compliance with relevant UK legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Consult with our legal team on the preparation of legal documentation, including governing documents, constitutions, and articles of association.
• Assist in the establishment of appropriate governance structures, and work with our HR team regarding the recruitment and training of trustees and board members.
• Assist our management and accounting teams to choose optimal bank accounts and obtain the necessary financial services for new charitable entities.
• Consult with our fundraising team to help implement our strategies for fundraising, donor engagement, and income generation.
• Offer strategic advice on staffing requirements, recruitment processes, and employment contracts.
• Help us to identify potential risks and opportunities associated with charity setup and operation.
• Keep abreast of changes in charity law, regulations, and best practices, and ensure that organizational policies and procedures remain up to date.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to achieve organizational objectives.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven experience in setting up charities, CICs, or CLGs in the UK, including a comprehensive understanding of the legal and regulatory framework.
• Knowledge of charity law, tax regulations, governance principles, and financial management practices.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment, fostering a culture of trust and respect.
• Genuine interest in spiritual subjects and a commitment to promoting values of compassion, empathy, and social responsibility.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and requirements, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving.

As a collection tin volunteer, you will play a vital role in supporting us to raise our profile and fundraise within your community.

You will look after the Magpas Air Ambulance collection tins within a designated area, replacing full tins and returning them to an agreed location. You can also help us by finding new locations in which to place tins. These collection tins are an important part of how we raise money, raising approximately £20,000 per year.

As a collection tin volunteer, you will be expected to:

• Represent Magpas Air Ambulance in a respectful and friendly manner
• Understand the work of Magpas Air Ambulance, having basic knowledge and enthusiasm for our service
• Wear your Magpas Air Ambulance ID badge, ensuring it's visible at all times
• Travel to your collection tins (on two or four wheels). Where motorised vehicles are used, you must hold a full UK driving license, have a road-worthy vehicle with up-to-date road tax, MOT certificate (where applicable) and fully comprehensive insurance.
• Establish the regularity of required tin collections in your area, keep a log of your activities and feedback to the Supporter Care Officer
• Proactively replace full collection tins as needed and deliver them to an agreed location within one working day of collection
• Place new tins in locations within your area, ensuring they are accurately labelled with the location and organisation's name
• Inform the Supporter Care Officer of any new tins placed or any changes, helping us to ensure records are accurate and kept up to date
• Follow all Magpas Air Ambulance policies and procedures, including reporting any accidents and incidents
• Recognise, respond to, and report any safeguarding issues or concerns

As an event volunteer you will play a vital role by raising awareness of our services, assisting with fundraising and engaging with the local community.You will represent Magpas Air Ambulance at a wide range of events indoors and outdoors, come rain or shine. You may be assisting with car parking, meeting and greeting, setting up a stall, selling merchandise, engaging the public and answering questions. Magpas Air Ambulance have a presence at over 150 events each year and need reliable, friendly people like you to help us achieve this. At larger events you will be supported by an event lead and we'll always make sure you are prepared and confident, you don't need to have previous experience, just be willing to get stuck in!

As an event volunteer, you will be expected to:

• Represent Magpas Air Ambulance in a respectful and friendly manner.
• Understand the work of Magpas Air Ambulance to secure basic knowledge and enthusiasm for our service.

Every donated item that you sort, prepare and sell helps to raise vital funds to support us in our mission to make sure no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, is isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential. Our shops are at the heart of local communities – sharing the work of Sense, and helping to secure support for our life changing work.

We’re looking for volunteers who are:

Volunteering in one of our Sense Shops will involve a variety of tasks that you can get involved with. These include:

• Welcoming and assisting customers, providing great customer service and a fantastic shopping experience
• Receiving donated goods from members of the public
• Sorting, steaming, tagging and preparing donated goods for sale
• Creating eye catching window and in-shop displays
• Keeping the shop floor well stocked, tidy, clean and organised
• Processing sales and serving on the till
• Promoting Gift Aid and other Sense fundraising initiatives
• Acting as an ambassador for Sense; promoting the shop and Sense in your local community
• Supporting with the recruitment and training of new volunteers
• Following new health, safety and social distancing measures to ensure the safety of everyone

Are you a proactive administrator interested in getting into fundraising in the Third Sector? Burning Nights CRPS Support is seeking a passionate and dedicated volunteer to join our team as a Fundraising Administrator. As a Fundraising Administrator Volunteer, you will play a vital role in supporting the fundraising team to look after our supporters who raise funds for our work. Your contributions will directly impact the lives of the individuals we support, empowering them to live fulfilling lives after a debilitating and complex condition.

This role may also include:

Key Tasks and Objectives

• Process fundraising materials orders
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of supporters through our database
• Write thank you letters, certificates, cards and postcards to acknowledge donations and final amounts raised
• Stewardship of fundraisers by communicating with them throughout their fundraising journey
• General administration duties as and when required

Key Skills or Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong relationship-building abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Ideally have knowledge of Google Drive
• Ideally have knowledge of CRMs or databases
• Strong organisational skills
• Maintain strict confidentiality

Training and Support

• Full induction to our organisation
• Relevant and ongoing training for your volunteer role

• Age over 18 only
• Expenses will be given in line with the charity’s expenses policy
• It is a remote role

About the Charity: Burning Nights CRPS Support is a UK wide charity that works to improve life for those living with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), their families, loved ones, carers and friends. As a charity we raise awareness about the condition amongst the public, health and legal professionals by providing CRPS awareness sessions so that patients can be diagnosed quicker to enable treatment to start more rapidly.
