Job Description

Do you want to volunteer for a new youth work charity that is aiming to make a difference to young peoples lives in East London?

We are a brand new charity with various and wide range of volunteer roles to help us build a solid foundation for our charity from management roles, to frontline youth work roles and of course office based/support roles.

Join our new charity and help us make a positive impact for young people.

Eastside Youth is a new youth work charity, that started in January 2017 and is based in East London aiming to change the lives of young people and has been set up in response to the massive and severe funding cuts and closures of youth services across East London, leaving young people with lack of services and feeling isolated in a time where young people already feel segregated from society with no real voice.

#YouthWorkChangesLives and at Eastside Youth we aim to facilitate that change by giving young people aged 11 to 25 years old based in East London the tools and skills to lead active and independent lives by providing interactive and engaging structured youth activities, training opportunities and support that will help improve their physical, mental, emotional, social and educational well-being.

We are looking for volunteers with experience to join us as Fundraisers or Funding Bid Writers for a one off bid/activity or for a few hours per week to help us generate income to raise the much needed funds to run our small youth work charity across East London, especially for our youth work projects.

We need people with previous experience who can really help us as a new but small charity reach our needed target funding.

This role offers an amazing opportunity for someone interested in a youth work charity, fundraising/income generation, new charities or making a positive impact in the community and for young people.

Duties Include:
1. Writing fundraising bids/grant applications for Eastside Youth, or for our individual youth projects, or organising one or more fundraising activities or events to generate income.
2. Sourcing supporters/donors/funders to target the activities, events or funding bids.
3. Working with other team members to support you, including our Communications and Social Media Officer to increase interest and publicity.
4. Monitor and track donations and funders and maintain an excellent communication and professional relationship to enhance chances of future funding and support.
5. Assist in the development of a fundraising strategy and work plan.
6. Look at ways to make fundraising/supporting Eastside Youth more attractive and rewarding, such as awards, supporters lunch or day etc.

Time Commitment & Work Location:
This role is very flexible depending on your time and commitment to fit around your work/personal time.

Eastside Youth Offers:
1. A great opportunity to make this role your own and be part of an amazing team and organisational culture, shaping a new charity that will make a big impact in the community and to the lives of young people.
2. An opportunity to get hands on experience in a role that will look great on your CV and provide you with professional and personal development opportunities.
3. A reference for any future employer or training course.
4. Joining us is so much more than just a volunteer role, you will be joining a family, a team, a community.

To apply email us your CV and we will get in touch with further info and a short application form.
