Easby Abbey is one of the best preserved monasteries in England of the Premonstratensian Order. The magnificent castle of Richmond, a second English Heritage site in the local area lies about 1.5 miles from Easby Abbey along the banks of the River Swale. The medieval church of St Agatha with its exquisite 13th century wall paintings also sit within the complex of buildings that once belonged to the monastery.
We are looking for a Volunteer Guide to lead walking tours between Richmond Castle and Easby Abbey along the route linking both sites, inspiring visitors with stories of the landscape and historic town of Richmond.
