equitysport is a small international development charity based in Guildford that exists to advance equality, diversity and equal opportunity in and through global sport.
We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to become our very first Communications Volunteer and support the management team and volunteer team with a range of communication tasks, including media and donor relations, social media, public affairs and online / offline external communications.

With your help, we will continue to provide compelling and high impact communications that demonstrate the importance of our work and the need for more support to advance the charity’s mission.


This role is predominantly undertaken remotely with regular face-to-face time in Guildford with other members of the team, charity ambassadors, trustees and staff.


You can dedicate as little or as much time to this role as you wish. Ideally we would like to have someone able to commit to the equivalent of one day per week.


Monitoring the news agenda and help the team create media materials including; press releases, news briefings, email newsletters and social media content.

Help the team maintain a suite of internal and external communication resources including; briefing sheets, speaking notes, factsheets, toolkits and templates.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Good computer skills and a willingness to be contacted via email and WhatsApp. 

Friendly telephone manner.

Good organisational skills and time management.

Willingness to adhere to all relevant organisational policies and procedures.



A great way to gain experience of writing compelling copy which quite literally could change lives.

You’ll be part of an international charity which is making a real impact on sport and on wider society in some of the most under-served and disadvantaged communities in the world.
