Job description

With summer events back on following the easing of lockdown restrictions, we are looking for friendly, hard-working and enthusiastic volunteers to join the team at various sport festivals over the summer and beyond.

It’s not a glamorous job, but if you’re passionate about change, enjoy working outside and meeting lots of people, you not only get to contribute to tackling inequality in global sport, but also enjoy some of the best sports festivals the UK has to offer - you also get to spend time with like-minded, equality-in-sport advocates and activists in the sun (hopefully).

What you'll do:

  • Charity litter patrol, stewarding, car park and gate marshalling, general assistance roles  - we offer sports festivals a small voluntary workforce, who, armed with all the required tools, help keep festivals running smoothly.

  • We invite festival go-er’s to donate via text as a means to say thank you and to help raise awareness and funds for our mission to make global sport fairer and more equitable - your equitysport uniform will promote the text-to-give details as you roam the festival.

  • Engage with festival go-ers with what we’re doing, who we are and how they can support via text-to-give - don’t worry, we’ll help with what to say!

Required skills:

  • Enthusiasm - picking up litter, directing traffic and stewarding festival go-ers isn’t most people’s idea of fun - BUT, it helps spread our vision of a fairer, more equitable sporting world and raises vital funds to continue our work!

  • Work ethic - we will operate short but regular shifts (patrols) throughout the day with plenty of time to soak up the festival, but we are looking for people willing to roll up their sleeves and go the extra mile to help the festival organisers (and raise funds for equitysport!).

  • Passionate about equality, diversity and equal opportunity.

  • Enthusiastic about advancing the mission and vision of equitysport.

Expense Policy:

  • We will cover travel expenses to and from the festival (or arrange car pooling wherever possible) and provide meals when volunteering for more than four hours.

  • Full PPE equipment will be provided to all volunteers.
