Job Description
Straight Talking Peer Education employs teenage mothers and young fathers to run courses in secondary schools about the realities of early parenthood, healthy relationships, child sexual exploitation and sexting.
This work achieves two things:
Role includes:
Assist in preparation and implementation of a new accounting software.
Enter supplier invoices and credit notes
Journal entries as required
Assist with processing expenses and petty cash transactions
General administration as required
This would suit someone with the following attributes:
Keen interest in accountancy as a career
Strong desire to enhance their accountancy skills
Knowledge of accountancy concepts and practices
Intermediate spreadsheet skills as well accounting software skills (preferable SAGE or AccountEdge)
PLUS:
Excellent attention to detail
Problem solver and proactive
Good organisational and administrative skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
A ‘can do’ attitude
Understanding and Commitment of the aims and values of Straight Talking.
Ideally the candidate will be able to volunteer for 2 days a week for 3 months
Volunteer expenses of up to £10 per day will be paid for lunch and travel on production of valid receipts
