SHP’s Fulfilling Lives in Islington and Camden (FLIC) team – who support Islington and Camden residents with multiple disadvantages – are recruiting for a team of Peer Mentors to take part in our NCVO accredited Programme.
We are looking for people who have direct experience of homelessness, mental health difficulties, and/or substance misuse, who are stable in their recovery and live independently, to provide one-to-one support to FLIC clients. Each Peer Mentor will attend full training and will be matched with one or two FLIC clients. The Mentor will represent an inspirational figure of recovery and will support their Mentee to consider opportunities for change and to access relevant services.
Peer Mentors will also have monthly reflective practice, individual and group supervision, and will be supported in the creation of a Personal Development Plan, with the ultimate aim of accessing employment opportunities. They will have access to a personal budget to support them with achieving the goals set out in their Development Plan. Peer Mentors will have a degree of time flexibility.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
