Join Hope for the Future's Board of Trustees and be at the forefront of combating the climate and nature emergency!
Hope for the Future is looking for a Treasurer and at least two other Trustees to help lead our work tackling the climate and nature emergency. Hope for the Future is a climate communications charity with a vision of UK communities and politicians working together to secure a healthy planet for all. To achieve that, we train and support citizens across the UK to develop constructive relationships with politicians, countering the ‘us and them’ narrative that gets in the way of meaningful democratic engagement and political progress
We’re looking for candidates who will not only bring a commitment to climate action, but also a finesse for accountability, sustainability, and regulatory compliance. Incoming trustees will receive a full induction, so if you’ve never been on a board before, don’t let that put you off applying.
We’re seeking diverse expertise to enrich our board. We’re particularly looking for trustees with skills in finance, HR, fundraising and marketing, all of which will be invaluable in shaping our strategy and impact.
Our track record speaks volumes: from influencing Parliament to catalyzing local action, our engagement spans party lines and drives tangible change. Take the lead in our vital work and make a lasting difference. Apply now and help shape a future where hope prevails over crisis.

Farmhut aims to address the challenges faced by small-scale farmers in accessing finance and insurance services. Many farmers lack a digital record of their farming activities, making it difficult for lenders to assess their creditworthiness. In addition, the high cost of traditional insurance products makes it difficult for farmers to protect their crops and livestock from natural disasters and other risks. Farmhut's platform provides APIs for financial institutions to assess and finance farmers, as well as tailored loan products and insurance cover at affordable rates. The platform also provides farmers with a user-friendly interface to manage their financial and insurance needs.

Agriculture is the primary source of income and food security for over 80% of the population in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo). Unfortunately, farmers in this region face numerous challenges that significantly hinder their productivity and overall well-being. These challenges include limited access to important information, inadequate storage infrastructure, transportation limitations, insufficient financial assistance, reliance on rainfall, and a lack of opportunities for training and skill development. As a result, over 7.7 million people in the DR Congo are currently struggling with severe food insecurity.
Our organization is fully committed to supporting farmers by providing them with the necessary knowledge, skills, and resources to enhance their productivity and meet the highest standards of quality. One of the primary focuses of our program is to offer farmers comprehensive training on the most effective agricultural practices. This encompasses guidance on soil management, efficient water utilization, integrated pest and disease control, and responsible use of chemicals.
