Job description

We are seeking volunteer interns to support the advocacy team working towards universal prohibition of corporal punishment. 

Duration: flexible, but we ask you to commit to working with us for a minimum of 3 months

Unpaid: we can pay reasonable travel expenses for travel within London

Location: At our London office or home-based


Contribution to a number of GI’s projects:

  • Researching and monitoring trends, stories and research
  • Summarising information and evidence about the issue, prevalence data and country case studies
  • Translating our materials or checking translations
  • Contributing to work on specific countries, e.g. researching legislation, producing communications (e.g. letters and emails) on law reform to send to governments and civil society to encourage prohibition of corporal punishment
  • Helping develop material for our website


  • Fluency in English and excellent writing skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to analyse and understand complex information; familiarity with legal information would be an advantage
  • Experience of using WordPress, social media, and other communications tools would be an advantage
  • Fluency and good writing skills in another language would be an advantage, particularly Spanish or Arabic
  • Commitment to GI’s values including child rights, safeguarding and integrity is essential
