Healthy Hamlets
Happy - Healthy - Community

We are a very small volunteer run community project, helping the community of Tower Hamlets to be more active, healthy and happy by providing healthy living information, community based activities and events, taster sessions and working with partnerships to sign-post people to services in their areas that we do not provide.

We are re-launching our project and are seeking a volunteer who can lead on one of our monthly programmes called Healthy Hamlets in the Park, where people who live, work and study in Tower Hamlets can come along to Victoria Park and take part in fitness, health and wellbeing sessions.

As Team Leader, you will organise, develop and manage the monthly programme, a few hours per month, engaging the community to be healthier and active, coordinating activities and a team of volunteers with a common goal in creating a fantastic community organisation in Tower Hamlets.

Duties Include;

  • To provide leadership and be responsible for the Healthy Hamlets in the Park, monthly programme at Healthy Hamlets.
  • Working with the Health Programme Manager to develop the programme to ensure its successful and achieves great results for the community.
  • To plan, organise and develop monthly activities for the programme, including booking in fitness instructors/personal trainers and team members to lead on activities.
  • Being a public face, and an ambassador for Healthy Hamlets.
  • Build positive and lasting relationships with key stakeholders, businesses and the media.
  • Motivating and engaging members of the public, volunteers and stakeholders.
  • Assisting in fundraising activities and bid writing to generate income.

We are seeking a well organised, proactive, solution focused individual who has amazing people and communication skills, ideally with experience in community/public health or within community/charity work and able to lead from the front in making our community project even bigger and better.
