London, Greater London
Unpaid - Voluntary
Job description

Hestia is a vibrant London charity with ambitious and exciting plans around how we talk to the
public and to our partners about what we do and about how we will reach more people in need of
our help. Celebrating almost 50 years of experience, we try to help anyone who needs us, whatever
their circumstances.

At Hestia we support adults and children in times of crisis and the demand for our services has
never been higher. Across London and the surrounding regions, we work together with adults and
children to change their lives at the times when they most need our support. We also campaign
and advocate nationally on the issues that affect the people we work with.

We have steadily grown to become one of the largest providers of domestic abuse refuges in
London and last year across all our service types (including mental health, modern slavery, ex-offenders and day centres), we helped almost 10,000 people.

This is an exciting time for us and we are looking for outstanding individuals who believe in our work
and who want to help guide the charity and be part of an energetic Trustee board. We are seeking
potential new Trustees who are recognised leaders and have strong experience in the fields of:

• Health (to help drive our approach towards more Health commissioned services)
• Communications & Public Affairs (to support our strategy to grow our profile & influence)
• Safeguarding (see attached added responsibilities for our Trustee Safeguarding Champion)

While we welcome applications from all interested individuals; we are currently underrepresented
by people from black and other minority ethnic backgrounds. We particularly encourage members
of these groups to apply.

This is an unpaid (other than expenses) but enormously rewarding opportunity and we hope you will
consider joining us.
