Do you love traveling to cool new locations, running incredible trails and organising events that have a lasting impact on the local community....... then it's time to get involved with us.
Impact Marathon Series:
Impact Marathon Series is a social business designed to harness the power of running and link it with sustainably building communities and bringing people together, leaving a lasting impact on the world.
We are looking for an incredibly talented individual to volunteer their time to work in either Guatemala, Malawi, Kenya, Nepal or perhaps even all of them!
In this role as Race Director you will work closely with the Head of Operations, as well as our charity partners and local stakeholders to deliver a truly inspiring race day!
- Planning and management of the course operations, including start/finish area, water stations, medical aid and signage.
- Planning and management of race day staff and volunteers, allocating key roles and responsibilities around the course.
- Building relationships within local communities and updating key stakeholders on event progress.
- Assisting in race day procurement, from hand-made medals to snacks.
- Proactively supporting the recruitment of international and local participants.
IMS are looking for people who want to make a positive impact on the world through the #powerofrunning
You will be highly motivated to do your best for the people around you, your team and charity partners. Communication is key, through both documentation and group meetings.
Race Day is extremely busy, you will need to be capable of working under pressure, whilst still smiling and delivering a well organised plan - all on the back of a busy Impact Week and lack of sleep.
The ability to be flexible and think on your feet is key, our events don’t follow the norm, so be prepared to experience different yet wonderful scenarios, including jogging over 20km on race day!

The successful applicant must be prepared to make an impact on the lives of those around them and be willing to live in basic conditions, whilst being able to travel independently around country.
Flights, travel insurance and visa’s are at the applicant’s own expense. Plus a fee of £500 to cover in-country accommodation and transfers. A more detailed breakdown of costs and expenses will be provided for those applicants selected for interview. A fundraising commitment to the chosen charity is highly appreciated.
Whilst this is initially a voluntary role, for applicants with relevant experience able to prove their ability to add strategic value, there is the distinct possibility of attaining regular work: almost all of the IMS paid staff began as interns or on a pro bono basis
