John Taylor Hospice in North Birmingham is at an exciting time in its development with a clear vision to improve End of Life care for our local population, working with colleagues on the End of Life Care Strategies for the City.
We operate across the North, West and East of Birmingham and provide a wide range of End of Life Care Services to those populations and have strong partnerships with our commissioners and neighbouring providers.
We are now seeking trustees to join our existing Board to provide a creative contribution to the board by providing objective (challenge and scrutiny) and constructive criticism at Board meetings and Board committees.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate senior experience as trustee, non-executive &/or senior manager in the public &/or private &/or not for profit sector. All applications are welcomed, however applications are encouraged in particular from individuals with a Financial/commercial background/ a fundraising and marketing background or with experience/ expert knowledge of building and estates. Successful candidates will have the ability to act with independence of mind, impartiality and have personal qualities that can bring added value to Board effectiveness. They will also need to demonstrate compliance with the fit and proper persons test as a company director.
This is a voluntary position and applicants will need to be able to commit at least twelve days annually, and have flexibility to attend meetings at short notice in the interests of the business.
