I CAN the children’s communication charity is actively seeking Trustees due to a number of their current Board members reaching the end of their tenure. As experts in helping children develop the speech, language and communication skills they need to thrive in the 21st Century, the charity offer a number of programmes and services throughout the UK offering support to parents, children and practitioners as well as operating two Ofsted Outstanding specialist schools supporting children with severe and complex communication needs.
Digital Trustee – an IT expert who can help the charity with their desire to build a digital strategy which will look at social media, digital marketing, website interaction and developing future technology services to help support their aims.
All Trustees have a duty to ensure that the charity is well run, solvent, legally compliant, and working towards I CAN’s charitable purpose for which it was established and Trustee roles are an important and a highly rewarding way to support an organisation. Please note that Trustee roles are unremunerated voluntary positions, although reasonable travel expenses will be paid.
I CAN is committed to equality of opportunity, supports and encourages under-represented groups and values diversity. We seek people from a wide range of backgrounds, who will bring a fresh perspective to the Board and having reviewed our existing Trustees diversity, skills and experience, we are keen for our Board to reflect the diversity of the communities that we work with and we therefore welcome applications from all sections of the community.
Closing date for initial interest is Thursday 29th August. Please contact our retained Consultant Rebecca du Plessis, Director of Langton Not 4 Profit for further information.
