Job Description

The purpose of this role is to support the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Project with administrative and logistical tasks. Your role will involve supporting the Project manager to make sure all of our services run smoothly.

Main activities/tasks:

  • Take care of admin tasks such as data entry, desk research, report writing, presentations, talking to clients on the phone.
  • Prepare materials for workshops and co-facilitate sessions with workshop leader.
  • Develop a supportive relationship with other volunteers and staff and maintain good and frequent communication with them.
  • Manage social media outlets such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
  • Create marketing materials (flyers, posters, etc.) and conduct outreach work.
  • Work on marketing strategies to advertise our services with the aim of increasing attendance to workshops and referral numbers

    We are looking for individuals with:
  • A high level of verbal and written communication in Spanish and/or Portuguese
  • A friendly and sympathetic personality who will be enthusiastic to work with a team of passionate volunteers
  • Organisational skills and good time management
  • Knowledge of computer softwares, such as Word, Excel, Canva, etc.
  • An open-minded, patient and approachable manner
  • The ability to listen, communicate and engage with people of all ages, genders, races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, cultures and abilities with a non judgemental approach – that is culturally sensitive and aware of individual circumstances and needs
  • An interest in charity work, social care, public health or project management
  • Sensitivity when working with vulnerable people, with genuine interest in promoting their well-being and independence
  • The ability to work independently as an effective member of a team and demonstrate a proactive attitude ​

We believe that volunteering is a two-way exchange of skills that should be beneficial for both parties.
Through volunteering with us, you would receive lunch and travel expenses up to a certain amount, an initial induction, ‘on the job’ training, regular supervision and support from a named supervisor. In addition, you would have the opportunity to attend training from external third tier organisations. DBS check is required for this role.
