Man&Boy is a growing charity working in South West London and Surrey supporting boys who are experiencing challenges in the transition from primary to secondary school. We have been active for eleven years and currently have five members of paid staff and 25 volunteers.
We are currently looking for a new Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees to help guide and advise us on financial concerns. Our trustees are passionate about the family, understand the barriers young people face to fulfilling their potential. We are looking for someone who may have a finance management background or who has senior experience in Financial Controls – ie an Accountant or similar. Preferably we would like someone with an understanding of Charity finance, pensions and legal requirements but this is not essential. We also are looking for someone who can support our ethos and values. We are particularly under-represented by women, younger adults and black and ethnic minority communities on our board – we want to change this and particularly want to hear from representatives of these groups.
We meet a minimum of four times a year and each board member takes responsibility for an area of policy as well as general oversight and trusteeship of the charity – we are a friendly and experienced board and we would love to meet with you to discuss the opportunity further.
If you would be interested in exploring this opportunity, please submit an application or contact Paul Ellis, Acting Director, Man&Boy to arrange an informal discussion.
Our vision: We want to:
Raise self-esteem in boys
Support and encourage men as role models
Empower boys to reach their full potential in school, work, and family, and to contribute positively in their local communities.
Family and the role of positive fathering and father-figures
Acting honestly and with integrity
Personal and collective responsibility
Enabling others to achieve their full potential
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
