EMPOWER THE COMMUNITY WITH US!

Exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic and growing community development organisation in a voluntary Trustee role!

WHO WE ARE

Established in 2007, Manor House Development Trust is a community charity based at the Redmond Community Centre in Woodberry Down, N-London. We aim to empower and support residents through our community led projects. The Trust provides the strategic means by which the community and those who seek to improve it can make change which is mutually beneficial and sustainable.

We do this by connecting organisations; empowering the local community; making space available; influencing the powerful; and maintaining a robust & sustainable organisation.

We are looking to recruit new Trustees to help steer MHDT’s valuable work to the next level and secure its long-term future

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Our Board of Trustees play a pivotal role in supporting the charity’s strategic direction. Previous charity Board experience is desirable but not as important as a passion for our work and a desire to make a positive contribution.

MHDT is fully committed to equality, equity and diversity, and strives to ensure that the Board of Trustees reflects the full breadth of the community it supports. To further promote and ensure better representation on our Board, we would particularly welcome applications from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities.

We are looking for new Trustees with skills in the following areas:

  • FINANCE
  • IMPACT MONITORING & EVALUATION
  • HR/LAW
  • FUNDRAISING & NETWORKING

WHAT’S INVOLVED?

Each of the Woodberry Down Regeneration partner organisations have an appointed representative on the MHDT Board. 50% of Trustees must live within the Woodberry Down ward.

As a Trustee, you will be a motivated and committed individual who is able to actively support the Trust to help it develop and take its ideologies successfully into the future.

You will be required to attend at least four meetings each year, one each quarter (online for now, might change as COVID-19 restrictions and rules change). The role is voluntary and unremunerated.

As a Trustee you will have:

  • Induction, training & reimbursable expenses (travel)
  • Opportunities to make strategic decisions & develop new skills
  • The chance to improve health & wellbeing of people & communities
  • Opportunities to network with senior professionals
  • Influence and shape innovative projects

MHDT is a dynamic community development organisation. Our approach ensures those in the community have the capacity to determine how their community can change for the better.

TO APPLY

Please send us a copy of your CV and a covering letter (max 1 A4 page) which includes how you fit the criteria outlined above and why you are applying for the role.

Please check out the MHDT website for further information about the work we do.
