The successful nominees for these curatorial opportunities will be invited to join a relevant working group of the Committee and, depending on the volunteers’ skills and experience, we hope to be able to invite at least one person to join the Management Committee itself.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an early career Communications Intern/Officer to be based with an NGO in the heart of Madagascar.
Living in the coastal town of Fort Dauphin in the southeast of Madagascar, this role will support the team managing SEED’s media and communication work. The successful candidate will work with both national and international staff to assist on a wide variety of tasks, from supporting with planning and scheduling content across our range of social media platforms, creating digital media for marketing and social media and day-to-day administration tasks. The role is predominantly office based with some ad-hoc travel to our rural projects. Duties and responsibilities

Create and write social media, website and newsletter content with staff across all departments in line with SEED’s strategy

Work with the Senior Media and Communications Officer to develop and edit content, ensuring different platforms are used to best advantage SEED’s positioning

Provide timely, day to day monitoring and replying to questions and debates across platforms

Support the development of individual giving and fundraising campaigns, through all stages

Work with the Senior Media and Communications Officer and Project Officers to storyboard and develop content as well as engaging and creative social media and awareness-raising campaigns

Support the review and evaluation of social media platforms against marketing KPIs

It is a good opportunity to join Respond's Board at this time, following our restructure and as we move towards the last year of our current strategy for 2022-25. The role of the Board of Trustees
The Trustees (or 'Board members') are trustees of the charity and directors of the limited company. They are responsible for the governance, setting the strategic direction and monitoring the implementation of the strategy. The Board ensures that the charity acts in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
The Board has responsibility for:

Who we’re looking for
Following a recent skills audit within the current Board, the Board is seeking trustees with the following skills or experiences;

Finance - This person will have a financial qualification and will enable the Board to ensure the sound financial health of the charity. The person will collaborate with the Finance Director to ensure that the organisation has systems that meet sector best practice and ensures financial accountability. This trustee will be the Treasurer and chair the Finance Committee.

Human Resources (HR) - This person will have experience in working in HR roles, preferably in the voluntary sector. This person will help review and strengthen Respond’s HR policies, set up and lead the people committee and guide the Leadership team in dealing with complex HR issues including change management.

Fundraising, Marketing and Comms – This person will work closely with our Head of Development and Commissioning on our income strategy and communications strategy.

Psychotherapy /working in a trauma informed setting – As an organisation providing psychotherapy and arts therapies for autistic people and people with learning disabilities, we are looking for a trustee with experience of working as a therapist with a systems-psychodynamic approach.
The Board wants to ensure that the charity's 'beneficiaries' are represented in its governance. We encourage applications from people who have lived experience of autism, learning disabilities and/or trauma-informed work (either directly or through family members). How the Board carries out meetings will also be reviewed to accommodate adjustments requested by new trustees with learning disabilities or who are autistic. Time requirement - What is involved?
Trustees attend eight Board meetings per year approximately every six-eight weeks currently on a Tuesday evening 5:30pm to 8pm. Meetings are in London, and remote access is available for trustees who live/work outside London.
Each Trustee is expected to be an active member of the Respond community, committing 5 to 10 hours per month to the charity which may also involve being on a sub-committee such as; Finance Committee, Clinical Governance and Safeguarding Committee each of which meets four times per year, typically during normal office hours online or in London.
Trustees are expected to attend an induction session at Respond prior to their first Board meeting. Trustees are expected to attend all Board meetings. Other meetings are away-days over a weekend.
Trustees are invited to the annual general meeting, which takes place typically in November.
Trustees may claim expenses incurred in effectively carrying out their duties, in accordance with Respond’s Trustee Expenses Policy.
Papers are distributed one week in advance of meetings. In addition, Trustees are expected to review documents and communicate with other board members and senior staff between meetings. Every effort will be made to ensure that trustees with learning disabilities or who are neurodiverse have access to documents in formats that they can understand or have the support available for them to fully participate as trustees.
Occasionally, circumstances may require urgent meetings (either face-to-face or virtual) to examine strategic issues or items requiring Board approval
Duration of the role
Board terms are for a five-year term following which the person can be elected to serve another three years.

The new role of Community Engagement Volunteer (CEV) will be at the centre of Jigsaw South East’s plans for the future.
We want to ensure that we increase our reach across our recently defined catchment and are able to support the children, young people and families who need our vital support.
The role of CEV will therefore assist with the following key areas:
- Presenting to schools, businesses and organisations across our local communities about our work and how we raise funds;
- Building recognition and awareness of our name and what we do;
- Assisting our Support Team to engage with Community Palliative Teams, Clinical Nurse Specialist Teams (particularly Cancer and Neurological Teams) and GP Surgeries to help us increase referrals to our service;
- Engaging with disadvantaged communities across our catchment who may be currently unaware of our support - we would like to focus on two areas (Crawley and Woking) and look to role out and recruit for other areas our service covers in the future (dependent on funding).
Training
We will provide you with all of the information and training you need and you will join a vibrant and committed group of volunteers ensuring that children and young people across our communities will not be alone during their bereavement journey.
Jigsaw South East is committed to the wellbeing of our volunteers and we will provide you with the information and support you need to fulfil your volunteering role. You will have a named member of staff as a central point of contact, access to supervision where relevant and the opportunity to meet other Jigsaw South East volunteers on, at least, a quarterly basis.

A Good Thing is looking for an experienced copywriter for an intense, short project. We have a backlog of ‘charity needs’ that we have registered but have not yet had time to write up.
When charities join A Good Thing, they are invited to share their needs with us – the things their charity could really make use of. We then write these up into short (150/200-word) pieces that go onto our blog and are also heavily promoted via our social media channels. We work hard to match these charity needs up with local businesses that can fulfil the needs.
The successful candidate will be given access to our list of charity needs, and will work through them, writing them up to a template that we will provide, and then uploading them to our website. There will be some image research needed, too, for each piece.
We estimate there are roughly 150–200 hours of work here. Happy for these hours to be completed over a period of 6–12 weeks, depending on availability. Obviously this work can be done remotely and entirely flexibly. Access to a computer will be an essential requirement. You will also need to be familiar with the Squarespace tool, which we use for our website.

The opportunity to be a Trustee is open to both those who wish to take their first step into a non-operational strategic management and those with experience of governance. As well as developing the Charity it will provide personal development opportunities and enhance any CV.
Stepping Stones (Luton) is a charity based in Luton which meet the needs of vulnerable women and their children. Our practitioners deliver community-based, frontline support to women suffering from drug addiction and substance abuse, who may have offended or re-offended or be victims of domestic abuse including those in contact with the criminal justice system. Services include women’s group programmes, 1:1 support and counselling and the provision of an Ofsted approved childcare facility.
Our current trustees bring a range of skills and experience to the Board and share their expertise to oversee the development and implementation of our strategic and business plans and the charity’s finances. We are looking for trustees for the board of Stepping Stones (Luton) board and would welcome either someone who has experience of being a trustee or someone who wants to take their first Trustee role. We are particularly interested in people with a background in finance, fundraising or social media. We are keen to improve the balance of diversity and perspective on our board which would reflect both our diverse work force and service users.
