About Our Steering Group
The Advocacy & Advice Steering Group will be made up of an initial nine young people aged 15-25 from across the UK who will work with clinicians and the team at A Little Bit of Sunshine UK to create guidance and resources to help other young people with their mental health. You must be aged 15-25 to apply for this opportunity as you may be required to travel to events.
Our Steering Group members will be our young leaders overseeing our projects and programmes within the charity! Through taking part in discussions, workshops, and meetings you will learn more about mental health and help to design resources and projects to improve services for young people in your community.
The core role of the group is to support our Advocacy & Advice projects, make strategic and informed decisions and represent young people in their communities. The steering group will help us to design and deliver projects and programmes, hold leaders and the charity’s staff to account for the performance of projects and ensure that their participants and stakeholders are heard and valued throughout the charity’s work.
About A Little Bit of Sunshine UK
ALBOS UK is a youth-led registered charity working to support and empower young people to engage with decision-makers to improve the quality of support services available to them.
We co-lead outreach projects and forums to gather young people’s views alongside a team of young, lived experience changemakers. We help to integrate youth voice into service design and provision, ensuring young people’s core needs are at the forefront of the services they access.

About the role
We are looking for Volunteer Befrienders to support our Brent Mental Health service in the London Borough of Brent. Volunteers must be based within this area to take part in face-to-face befriending activities.
As a Volunteer Befriender, you will be required to travel across Brent to meet with service users and carry out your role. Ideally, you will be able to commit a minimum of 2 hour per week to volunteering.
There will also be opportunities for you to support staff who deliver wellbeing and recovery workshops to service users e.g. managing anxiety or confidence and self-esteem, if this is something you would like to get involved with.

About the service
Our Brent Mental Health service provides support to people aged 18 and above, who live in the Borough of Brent, and who have a mental illness and are known to the local NHS trust Central and North West London (CNWL).
The aim of the Befriending Service is to;
- Reduce social isolation of service users
- Increase the confidence of service users in accessing community resources independently
- Provide meaningful activities and peer support for service users
- Help service users to live happier, healthier, independent lives
- Provide volunteering opportunities for people with mental health issues
- Reduce stigma and raise mental health awareness
What you will be doing as a Volunteer Befriender:
- Meeting with service users in locations and times which meet their needs (including evenings and weekends)

Purpose of the Role
This volunteer role is a key part of the HFEH Mind team delivering a range of services across Hammersmith and Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow. We support clients with mental health with both clinical and non-clinical interventions.
The volunteer will coordinate a network of volunteers who, alongside the local team, delivering a range of services.
The volunteer will onboard, induct, and provide ongoing support for the volunteers and provide oversight of the relationship volunteers have with the service users we work with.
Main Responsibilities
To work closely with the HFEH Mind team and service managers and support the services with volunteer recruitment, supervision and retention.
Tasks
- Work with the service managers and central support team to support the journey and retention of volunteers.
- Provide volunteers with 1:1s or group support on a monthly basis.
- Support Director of Adult Services to administer reflective practice sessions.
- Work with the service managers and central support to log and administer volunteer availability, and resolve any volunteering related issues or complaints.
- Encourage people to volunteer through a variety of local marketing and promotion approaches, including social media and engage with our Head of Well at Work to develop a marketing and communications strategy for volunteers.
- Develop, coordinate and engage a network of around 30 active volunteers for the service.

What you will be doing as a Nomad Community Mapping Volunteer
The aim of our service Nomad Community Mapping Volunteers is to provide mapping data and locations of services and groups to our network. This is achieved by scouting areas and sourcing possible venue hires and points of interest that would benefit our services and people within our community.
As a Nomad Community Mapping Volunteer, you will enable our Group Development team (and wider service network) to make informed decisions about opportunities in Derbyshire's communities and spaces. As part of the team you will support:

You will explain the GPG accreditation process to Nightlines and provide them with the GPG Questionnaire. Following the response from the Nightline, you will be responsible for checking submitted policies and procedures, and where needed provide feedback on how a Nightline can be GPG compliant.
You will sit within the Services Department in the Accreditation Team, whose purpose is to execute the GPG Accreditation Process across all Nightlines affiliated with the Nightline Association, research industry best practice, and recommend changes to the GPGs as necessary.

Role Description
The purpose of your role is to lead, coordinate and support the Regional Coordinators and Regional Support Officers, who sit within the Stakeholder Management department.
The Regional Coordinators and Regional Support Officers (similar roles) aim to support, represent, and maintain Nightlines. It is crucial to have a vision about where to take the team over the next few years, and this strategy will be developed alongside your line manager and team.
As a Team Lead, you will be supported by the Head of Stakeholder Management who will act as your main point of contact and line manager. You will also have access to the support of our staff team, Trustees and other Heads of Department.

Commitment
As a rough guide, we usually expect Team Leads to commit to an average of 2-4 hours of volunteering per week. We always seek to promote a healthy balance with your other commitments, so volunteering can be flexible to suit your needs.

The purpose of your role is to develop the Alumni Relations Project, working to re-engage Nightline alumni across the country through surveys and online events. You will look to gather the experiences of Nightline alumni into data for the Fundraising and Marketing teams - where has Nightline taken them?
You will sit within the Fundraising, Events & Comms Department in the Fundraising Team, whose purpose is to grow Nightline’s annual income and meet fundraising targets in line with the organisation’s strategy.
Your line manager will be the Fundraising Team Lead.
Activities and Responsibilities

Reach out to Nightline alumni through various channels

Build and maintain a mailing list of alumni

Gather information and stories on the careers and experiences of Nightline alumni using surveys

Convert data into a presentable format for use in fundraising or marketing strategy
