Roles and Responsibilties
The role is responsible for planning / implementing a content marketing strategies which increases brand awareness with our core target markets through the effective use of social media channels. This will include developing and implementing content marketing campaigns appropriate to the channel being used, monitoring social media channels to respond appropriately to posts / comments, and identifying issues that require escalation.
Digital and Social Media Assistant Job Duties:
· Research and create marketing and social media campaigns and strategies, including content ideation, and implementation schedules in order to raise brand awareness, secure media coverage, and increase visitor numbers.
· Manage and oversee social media content.
· Ensures brand consistency in marketing and social media messages by working with various company department members, including advertising, PR and brand management.

Family Lives operate a free confidential helpline for anyone experiencing difficulties in their family or relationship.
Our volunteers take calls from parents and carers on a wide range of subjects, whether that might be issues around separation and divorce, isolation, depression, bullying and abuse, dealing with behavioural problems, etc. You can find out more about our services on our website.
We are a national service with home-based call takers county wide as well as two call centres in the UK, one based in Old Hatfield in Hertfordshire and one in Newcastle. Once trained volunteers sign up for a weekly 4-hour shift comprising 3 hours ‘online’ followed by a debrief session with your supervisor which can lasts around half to one hour.
We recruit volunteers with a range of backgrounds and experiences though we ask that volunteers have experience of parenting or working with children and young people, are good listeners and have a willingness to learn. Being remote it will be very important that you have a PC/laptop, plug in headset with microphone, good Wi-Fi and a private place to work from home.
You need to be a UK resident.
Our training programme is excellent and will give you the opportunity to develop the skills needed to offer empathic support and guidance to callers whatever their circumstances; all shifts are overseen by a regular shift supervisor who provides ongoing remote support. We ask our volunteers to make a commitment of 1 year (with time off for holidays), obviously we understand that circumstances sometimes make that an impossibility but can be helpful to know at the outset that is the general expectation.
We have call taker training sessions that run over five sessions and is done remotely connecting you via a Microsoft Teams link.
You would need to be able to attend all five sessions from one of these remote training groups and be available on four occasions to listen into calls, this can be organised remotely.

Manchester Central Foodbank are a small but rapidly-growing charity at a pivotal moment in our evolution, and we are looking for an exceptional person to take on the role of Treasurer / Trustee.
We have recently established a finance committee, to ensure effective financial controls within our organisation. You will chair this committee of volunteers to support the foodbank in achieving its financial objectives. The finance committee and trustee board both meet every 4-6 weeks. Most of these meetings are online, with an occasional hybrid meeting.

Manchester Central Foodbank (MCFB) is a Trussell Trust-affiliated food bank, with a centre in Central, North, and East Manchester. We were established in Ardwick in 2013 by students at the Manchester Universities’ Catholic Chaplaincy, making us the first student-led foodbank in the country. Since then we have grown significantly, expanding into Harpurhey and Openshaw, but our goal to end the need for food banks in Manchester has never changed.
We are one of 6 Trussell Trust-affiliated food banks in Manchester, and one of 19 in Greater Manchester. We work closely with our colleagues across the city, to develop and work towards a strong network of support for people locked in poverty. We know that the problem of poverty cannot be solved by giving out food alone, so we work hard to give wrap-around support to our clients, and to campaign for real change in our community.
Role responsibilities
General financial oversight:
- Liaise with MCF Managers, external accountants and auditors about financial matters.
- Oversee and present budgets, accounts and financial statements to the Board.
- Ensure that robust and effective systems, policies and controls are in place for finance and investment.
- Ensure an effective system of delegation for finance is in place.
- Ensure that record-keeping and accounts meet the conditions of funders and statutory bodies
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Ensure suitable financial roles are in place to fulfil our finance function.
Financial performance, reporting, planning & budgeting:
- Advise on the financial implications of strategic and operational plans.
- Oversee regular reports on the organisation’s financial position
- Ensure effective monitoring and reporting.
- Liaise with designated staff for accounts preparation and audit, as required.
- Present accounts at the AGM.
- Advise on MCFs reserves policy and our investment policy.
Banking, book-keeping, record-keeping and payroll:

- Payment and recording of all supplier invoices

Role Description: As a Finance Trustee, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial integrity and sustainability of our charity. Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the financial management and reporting processes.
- Reviewing and approving budgets, financial statements, and financial policies.
- Providing strategic guidance on financial planning, and risk assessment.
- Collaborating with the finance team and fellow trustees to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Representing the charity at finance-related meetings and events.
Qualifications:
- Strong background in finance, accounting, or related field.
- Previous experience serving on a board of trustees or similar governance role preferred.
- Knowledge of nonprofit financial management practices and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to the mission and values of the charity.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
