Thousands of people volunteer for the NSPCC every year – helping to protect children and prevent abuse. Whether you can spare an hour or two, or want to get involved more often, whatever time you can give is invaluable. There’s something for everyone – from volunteering as a Childline counsellor, to leading assemblies and workshops in schools, helping out at events, or fundraising in your community. There are so many ways to get involved and help children, and we’d love to have you on our team. Volunteers are the beating heart of the NSPCC. In over 40 service centres around the UK we work directly with children and families on a rangeo f issues. At our Plymouth Service Centre we are working on a programme called Together for Childhood. Our aim is to prevent child sexual abuse.


The NSPCC has a successful campaign called 'PANTS' which helps children and young people to stay safe. Our mascot is PANTOSAURUS a friendly, large, yellow dinosaur.

What we're looking for

We are looking for a number of volunteers who will wear the costume at events where we are promoting the PANTS message.


What you’ll do 

Volunteering without a regular time commitment 'as and when' for events and activities that interest you! You’ll be lively and enthusiastic and will need to dance, gesture and high five at events in the PANTOSAURUS costume!


What you’ll get

You will have support, supervision and guidance throughout and will be supported by helpers at the events.

You will recieve out of pocket travel epenses (car mileage, bus or train) in line with NSPCC's expense policy.


Who’s right for the role?

You don’t need any prior experience, just a sense of fun, spirit and enthusiasm.

The PANTOSAURUS costume will fit a 5ft6 – 6ft strong physique due to the weight of the costume.
