We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed volunteer who will lead on growing our volunteer numbers in our brand new and unique Oxfam Superstore on Oxford Business Park.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable work experience and develop your CV, particularly if you are looking to pursue a career in Recruitment, HR, Retail, Events Management or something similar.
The Volunteer Recruiter role includes:
*Creating realistic volunteer recruitment action plans working with the Superstore Management Team
*Identifying and building relationships with local businesses, job centres, colleges, universities, volunteer bureaux and other community organisations to increase volunteer applications
*Utilising social media and other approaches to reach a diverse potential volunteer base
*Investigating advertising opportunities through multiple and varied channels
*Promoting Oxfam’s national recruitment campaigns in conjunction with the Volunteer Resourcing Manager
*Organising and attending local recruitment events
*Working within Oxfam’s key values of Accountability, Empowerment and Inclusiveness
*Adhering to and enforcing Oxfam’s safeguarding policies
What are we looking for?
*A passion and enthusiasm about volunteering and Oxfam’s values
*An understanding of the factors that motivate people to volunteer
*A background in recruitment or HR would be an advantage but not essential
*Experience of working on own initiative and as part of a team
*Ability to plan and organise own workload
*Experience of communicating by email and confident with Microsoft Office
*Good oral and written communication skills
*Ability to be adaptable and flexible
*An enthusiastic and positive approach to supporting teams
HR/Volunteer Management Mentoring/Coaching Training would be advantageous, although full training will be given.
