Do you want to be involved in an innovative and unique community project right from the very start? Are you looking for a volunteer position which will help you learn new skills, build your cv and meet new friends? Can you spae some time to help fight poverty and to save and improve lives throughout the world? If so this may be the role for you!

We are looking for Stockroom and Merchandising Volunteers to join the team at our brand new and unique Oxfam Superstore on Oxford Business Park.

This exciting project will be the first of its kind in the UK and as well as being an innovative retail store that will offer the very best of our donated fashion, homewares, books, music, electricals and new Sourced by Oxfam products, the Superstore will also feature The Water Tank Cafe, an amazing online store sellin to a worldwide audience, a market place for local ethical traders from the local community to display and sell their goods, and an exciting 'performance space' where we'll host workshops featuring anything from cycle repair to furniture upcycling!

No experience is required for this role as full training will be given – our only requirement is that you are reliable, enthusiastic and committed.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing & processing customer donations
  • Managing back room systems
  • Processing Gift Aid donations
  • Steaming clothes & cleaning donations to shop presentation standards
  • Maintaining Health & Safety standards as well as identifying & solving issues
  • Maintaining a clean & tidy workplace
  • Occasional till cover if required

Skills and competencies:

  • Ability to work within the shop guidelines
  • Honesty, reliability and ability to work as part of a team
  • An interest in charity retail
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Attention to detail
