If you have some time to spare you can turn your passion into action and join our welcoming team.

Oxfam runs a network of over 640 shops that raise millions of pounds each year to fund Oxfam's vital work. Individual shops need to maintain regularly updated social media accounts to engage with their local customers, raise awareness of their activities, partner with other organisations, and attract donations and volunteers to their shop.

This interesting role will give you the chance to learn about social media output for a multi-national charity and help this very lively and friendly shop engage even more with its local community.

As a Social Media volunteer to you role is to promote, develop and maintain our online presence in order to maximise our impact and to promote ourselves as widely as possible to the local community.

What’s Involved?

The Oxfam Online Shop is a successful online retailer growing year on year and providing Oxfam with much needed donated funds to support Oxfam's vital work, helping those less fortunate, in poverty and suffering around the globe. We need help selling items online to raise those funds. This role is for a regular volunteer to help take our sales and fundraising to the next level. 

Tasks include:

• Sorting and processing items for selling online.

• Photographing items for inclusion online.

• Listing, i.e. describing/selling products online.

• Packing and posting orders to customers.

What’s Needed?

You do not need specific skills or qualifications to volunteer. Training can be provided, but the following would be useful:

• Good written English.

• IT skills including using the internet and emails.

• An interest in fashion, clothes, music or books.

• Some experience in selling and marketing would be very useful.
