Job description

The UK country group of Peace Brigades International is currently seeking a
Treasurer. PBI is an international human rights organization
dedicated to nonviolence and conflict transformation.

The role of the Treasurer is to assist the coordinator in all aspects of the
organisation’s financial management and to take specific
responsibility for the oversight of all financial transactions. The
treasurer is also required to carry out general bookkeeping duties
including regular bank balance reviews, maintaining petty cash
records etc. PBI UK is a small organisation, so the number of
such transactions is minimal.

PBI UKforms part of a network of country groups that provide international
support to the mission of Peace Brigades International. We carry out
a series of activities including advocacy, fundraising, volunteer
recruitment, public awareness raising and peace education. We rely
on a dedicated team of volunteers to do this and are seeking your
support and involvement in our ongoing projects.

We are seeking a Treasurer to:

- prepare management accounts and present them to the PBI UK Board of Directors;

- be a member of the Board of Directors, attend Board meetings and
contribute to discussions on the general direction of PBI UK;

- chair the Finance Committee of PBI UK;

- prepare books and supporting documents for accountants;

- ensure that accounts are filed and the Annual Return has been submitted.
