About Us
An independent charity, The Centre for Sustainable Healthcare (CSH) has been leading efforts to incorporate the values of environmental sustainability into the health sector since its establishment in 2008. Our work is underpinned by CSH’s Principles of Sustainable Clinical Practice: prevention; patient empowerment; lean care systems; low carbon alternatives.
CSH has a particular focus on:
- engaging those on the front line of patient care and promoting the concept of ‘sustainable clinical practice’

Help us ensure that we enable every community across Solihull to feedback on their experiences of using Health and Social Care services. Support Healthwatch Solihull to reach out into communities in our city, listen to diverse and vulnerable groups, and help make their voice known.
Community engagement takes place across all areas of Solihull borough (support with travel arrangements and out of pocket costs will be provided) and will involve working as part of a small team. Work will be carried out at different venues and locations including:

What is Healthwatch?
Healthwatch Hounslow is an independent organisation set up to champion the views of health and social care service users. It strives to make sure that health and social care services are meeting local needs and to ensure that the public’s voice is heard regarding how local services are run.
About the Role
Healthwatch services have a statutory function to carry out Enter & View visits to health and care services to review services at the point of delivery. This involves visiting with a team of representatives to observe the service, view the premises, and talk to both staff, patients/residents, carers, and relatives. Visits involve using all the senses and going through questions and surveys. Enter & View visits often take place at care homes but can cover a range of services such as hospital wards, community clinics, and support groups.
You will receive full training on how to perform an Enter & View visit.

• Relay positive feedback to Marie Curie Nursing staff and volunteers.
• If comfortable, conduct semi-structured interviews to understand peoples’ lived
experiences of dying, death, and bereavement.

Why we need your help
Marie Curie set up the Research Voices Group in 2013 to make sure we’re engaging meaningfully with people in our research activities who have personal experiences of living with terminal illness or who have cared for someone with a terminal. Our aim is to enable members of this group to contribute at all stages of our research and policy work and in a variety of research projects that we fund.
All you need to join is personal experience of living with terminal illness, caring for someone with a terminal illness or of bereavement. You’ll also be interested in supporting research in these areas. We would welcome volunteers from diverse backgrounds and who have lived experience in the past few years.As part of the group, volunteers will help the Research and Policy teams to better understand the views of people living with a terminal illness, supporting people who have a terminal illness or of bereavement and help inform Marie Curie’s decisions on research funding,dissemination and campaigning activities.
This is a great opportunity to play an important role in helping to improve the future provision and quality of end-of-life care. It is also a chance to learn about the research and policy work in the sector.
What we would like your help with
Your role will include some of, but is not restricted to, the following tasks. You will be able to choose what you get involved with and how.
- providing your opinion on research proposals that we’re planning to fund
- helping to identify key questions for palliative and end of life care research
- advising on research projects, for example as a member of a research steering committee

Role Overview
We are looking for Grant Writers from across the world to help us apply for funding from major donors and development aid ogencies. The Grant Writer supports the Director for developing and writing grant proposals to trusts, foundations and other grant-making organisations such as Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, USAID, UKAID, EU Funding, NORAD, SIDA, DFID tenders, etc, and persuasively communicates AHO's mission and programmes to potential funders. In collaboration with the Director, the Volunteer administers the organisation’s grant management activities, including grant proposal writing, editing and compilation, submissions and follow up and prospect research. This position helps to write tenders based on instruction and detailed information from the Director, referring back for editing and final approval, leading to increased success in winning contracts and funding. Purpose of Role
To identify grant and bid opportunities, managing the grant development and proposal process and to produce successful tender proposals - as well as other fundraising applications when required based on good research and excellent communication.
Duties and Responsibilities
Grant writing
- Developing and writing grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making organisations persuasively communicating the organisation’s mission and programmes to potential funders;

Introduction
Africa Health Organisation (AHO) is in desperate need of Grant Writers. In AHO, Grant Writers are crucial because they bring financial resources to the organization. Most of our money comes from applying for grants and tenders. Our grants come from USAID, UKAID, the European Commission, DANIDA, SIDA, NORAD, grant-making trusts and foundations, the lottery fund, etc. You will be under the supervision of Simbarashe Chifeya, our Grants Director, and AHO Zimbabwe Country Director who is based in Harare, Zimbabwe. Your first day will begin with training on grant writing. The course will be delivered online via Zoom or Teams. Our internships are virtual and can be done from anywhere in the world.
