We're setting up a new youth charity called REMIX and looking for a volunteers to join us in the role of HR Manager who can help us get REMIX set up, leading on the setting up of our volunteer programme and also the HR function at REMIX.
REMIX aims to be a dynamic youth-focused charity passionate and committed to empowering young people from deprived areas and disadvantaged backgrounds across London and beyond by creating opportunities and experiences that address the holistic needs of young people, that EMPOWER young people and INSPIRE change that puts them on a path to TRANSFORM their lives for the better. Our evidence-based programmes will focus on developing essential life skills, fostering healthy lifestyles, and unlocking personal growth by experienced and dedicated positive role models in a safe and non judgemental environment, helping young people discover themselves and the world around them.
We're looking for volunteer HR Manager:
Our HR Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring that the charity’s human resources contribute effectively to its success and sustainability, helping REMIX become an amazing youth charity in London and beyond, especially for its volunteers and staff.
At REMIX you will;
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall mission and goals of REMIX.
- Lead and oversee the recruitment process, from job/role postings to interviewing and hiring, ensuring REMIX attracts and retains competent and dedicated staff and volunteers.
- Provide support and guidance on HR-related case work and employee issues, fostering a positive work environment and team spirited culture at REMIX.
- Ensure all HR policies and practices comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Manage training programmes that align with REMIX’s needs, including staff/volunteer inductions and professional development opportunities.
- Implement performance review processes to help manage staff/volunteer performance in line with the charity’s objectives.
- Oversee payroll administration, ensuring its effectively managed.
- Maintain employee/volunteer records, manage HR information systems, and ensure data protection standards are met.
- Act as an advisor to senior management on all HR matters, providing insights that facilitate informed decision-making.
- Lead and support organisational change initiatives, helping the charity adapt to evolving circumstances.
- Promote diversity and inclusion within the charity, ensuring it is a welcoming place for all.
- Other duties relevant to the volunteer role of HR Manager at REMIX.

Our english program for native childrens takes place in marginalized communities in the Central Andes of the Central Andes of Peru giving these children the opportunity to gain basic English skills that can help in their future education and increase your employability, as well as being open to more general knowledge.
one of our objectives is to teach this language, especially to children, as a means of self-improvement and education, since they lack the financial resources necessary to learn English.
This program will provide the opportunity for many children from populations that live in extreme poverty and will not have the opportunity to study in a private school, we develop classes from basic pronunciation materials, sentences, colors, communication, verbs and other important subjects. In addition, it is a way to improve the level of Spanish that the volunteer has, due to the continuous interaction of languages, all of this developed in a direct, entertaining and fun way.

REQUIREMENTS:
- minimum age: 18+ years.
- have an open, tolerant and positive mindset.
- It is very important to have the ability and patience to deal with little kids (5-9 years old).
- possess native English or advanced level of English.

COST:
There is No cost to participate as a volunteer in our organization
Accommodation:
option of accommodation in the organization's house at a low price, 50% discount or exemption from this contribution for accommodation from the second month of participation to those participants who have a good social work and integration into our work team. Purpose: Supporting the facilitation of Kids Matter parenting programmes in prisons, encouraging dads to grow in confidence, competence, and community.
Location: Within the prison (either HMP Brixton or HMP Wormwood Scrubs)
Time commitment: Minimum of 1 year, 4-8 hours per week, depending on prison placement
Main responsibilities
- Support Prison Facilitator (staff member) in the delivery of Kids Matter's prison parenting workshops
- Attend a Kids Matter family visit
- Engage with supervisory support from Prison Facilitator (staff member)
About Kids Matter's prison workshops
Kids Matter's prison workshops run for five weeks* (4x sessions followed by 1x family visit day). There will be breaks between each programme, and our goal is to run 3x programmes per year in each prison.
* Programme schedules may vary based on the prison location.
Before the programme starts
- Familiarise self with programme content
- Meet with the team
- Attend Kids Matter training
- Minimum 4.5 hours of bespoke training (depending on level of prison experience, it may be expected to attend more training)
- Complete prison security checks and training (where required)
During the programme
- 4x weeks of 2-hour sessions, plus set-up and set-down (roughly 4 hours per week)
- 1x 3-hour Kids Matter family visit, if applicable
After programme
- Review and debrief with team
