About Pride Cymru

As a charity, our remit is to work for the promotion of the elimination of discrimination. Whether this be on the grounds of sexual orientation, gender, race, religion and ability. We work towards this through our annual celebration of equality and diversity at Pride Cymru (historically known as Cardiff-Wales LGBT Mardi Gras).

We cannot do this alone! Pride Cymru relies on the kindness, time and support of the volunteers to deliver our year-round activities, including our Big Weekend event!

Role responsibilities

  • Identify and develop family-friendly activities to be offered within the Family Zone at Pride Cymru’s Big Weekend.
  • Identify and develop links with organisations who can provide activities for the Family Zone and continue to maintain links with existing activity providers.
  • Provide input and support during the Family Zone design process.
  • Provide training and manage Family Zone Assistants throughout Pride Cymru’s Big Weekend.

Person Specification

Please note that due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will need to undergo a DBS check before conducting any work with Pride Cymru.
This role does not require specific experience as the role will provide development opportunities where required; however, the person needs to understand the commitment required and that they will be a representative of Pride Cymru. Whilst not a requirement, ideal candidates will have some event management experience or experience working with children, and should be of a personable, approachable nature.
