Overview
An exciting opportunity to be an integral part of this compassionate Charity who's aims are to rescue and give a home for life to neglected, abused and unwanted animals whilst promoting compassionate living.
The charity is now entering an exciting time where the support of new trustees is essential to ensure we meet the goals and challenges set out for the future. The appointment of new Trustees will give us the skills and experience necessary to meet these aims.
With the COVID Pandemic and more recently the cost of living crisis the Charity has faced many challenges which we have and continue to overcome. The cost of living crisis presented a drop in donations and with a rise in running costs this has been our biggest challenge in 10 years. The launch of fundraisers and appeals plus the support of the local and national communities and on line supporters we are steadily increasing monthly donations. As a vegan run sanctuary we have a large following from this community which supports the work we do. The charity has also received a match fund donation and its aims are to to reach out to major donors who are inspired by the work we do to invest in the Charity.
The challenges we face are balancing the care and welfare of our animals which is our number one priority, rescuing animals in desperate need so they can live a safe and happy life, plus managing their 62 acre home; whilst having the time to invest in fundraising, project planning and development of major projects.
The Sanctuary is a place of calm and peace, a safe haven for the wildlife, who live alongside our rescued animals. The sanctuary supports its natural habitats with the planting of trees, hedges and rewilding. The environment and natural habitats are as important to protect and preserve as our rescued animals. Our woodland is home to endangered doormice and bats. The Sanctuary is supported by a small team of staff and a bank of over 30 volunteers that are dedicated to our animals, raising funds and the work we do to promote compassion.
Key areas the Charity is looking for are:
Governance and Compliance
Fundraising and Marketing
Financial Planning
Strategy and Project planning
How you will make a difference
As a trustee, you will have a real opportunity to offer your unique skill set to make change and give this Charity what it needs to progress and secure its future which benefit animals, people and the natural environment.
Your leadership, passion and commitment to our cause will ensure the safety and security of this young charity that has made it through the hard years of COVID and cost of living crisis
As part of our board you will support and shape our work and strategic direction, as well as help us achieve our purpose to meet our aims and mission
We are seeking individuals that want to make a real difference and be part of the board that will ensure the future stability and success of the Charity
Please send a covering letter detailing why you are interested in this role and what key skills you can bring. Along with a CV
