RANGER CADETS
We are the Ranger Cadets a brand new independent non-profit uniformed youth group that is being set up with an aim of getting young people engaged in their community in uniform, as well as upskilling them to unlock their full potential by providing skills for life, opportunities to get involved in the community and gain new experiences as part of a team, making our community a much better place.
We are a non-political and non-religious inclusive uniformed youth organisation that is open and welcoming to everyone regardless of their social background.
We're on the look out for a dedicated, hard working, passionate and driven Deputy Chief Ranger (Deputy CEO), who will co-run our 100% volunteer run uniformed youth organisation and help to make our organisation a huge success as the second most senior person in the organisation.
You MUST be able to help make Ranger Cadets a huge success. We're only looking for a driven fully motivated and go getting volunteer to join us and help us create something special.
The role involves occasionally attending evening and weekend activities and events in full uniform, including visiting our cadet units to celebrate and recognise the hardwork of the unit team and young people locally within their communities.
This is a UNIFORMED role and you MUST be willing to wear the Ranger Cadets Rank Insignia.

Scouting in Northern Ireland is led by a team of talented, focused volunteers, brimming with a passion for ensuring every young person in the country has access to our movement and skills for life we know it brings. This team brings together the Regional Lead Volunteers from across the country, the lead volunteers looking at specific strategic pillars and other areas of focus as well as staff colleagues to collaborate in delivering our strategy.
We are looking for individuals who can lead and support by being a great coach, critical friend and motivator to get the best from the people our team is here to support. Joining the team now provides the opportunity to be at forefront of our continued success within Scouting.
It is our ambition to create the best possible team to lead UK Scouts, and we believe that we will do that by inviting and involving volunteers from different walks of life with different experiences, different skills and perspectives. The Director of Service Delivery will take a strategic lead for the management of organizational output and service delivery. The incumbent will ensure that key departments with responsibility for delivering our work are performing to a high standard, that the organization is developing and the output related process and policies are working well, and that support is offered to departmental heads and management where needed.
Duties

To work alongside chief level staff to support the organization's development and overview incorporation

To contribute significantly towards supporting and strategically leading service delivery, with a focus on assurance of high quality impact

In most cases be the person departmental heads and management can turn to for guidance as appropriate

Be available to provide regular day to day strategic management and decision making capabilities as required

To always ensure that momentum and progress across organizational delivery related work is maintained and that all staff working in these areas are aware of this.

To identify problems and take action to resolve them to contribute to positive development and effectiveness whereby it may impact the daily business of the organization
Important expectations

The incumbent will be expected to generally check slack messages and emails every day, and be prepared to receive phone calls and phone or WhatsApp messages (in urgent circumstances).

The incumbent is expected to be able to deal with all situations, and be aware of the relevant information in order to do so.

Tthe incumbent will be expected to deal with issues and be proactive taking their own initiative as to improving and developing the organization

To coordinate with the Chief Operating Officer and others as required, and work together with the Chief Operating Officer and others to manage the day to day business of the organization.

To commit as much time as required to the role, using a range of 7 to 14 hours per week as a guide.
Must have

Experience in a Head of or Exectuive Director level role

At Teenage Helpline, we are a tight-knit community of people who are passionate about make a difference in the lives of young people across the UK
Teenage Helpline is an online peer-to-peer mentoring service for young people. We can act as the first stepping-stone for young people who do not feel comfortable seeking support for themselves, or who need a listening ear to help them cope with personal issues.
All of our volunteers and employees are remote workers. We have great systems in place to allow our employees and volunteers to get to know each other, work effectively together and do great work!

About the role
The CFO holds the overall responsibility of the financial health of Teenage Helpline. Their role is to drive growth in income and manage expenditure to a high level, whilst holding the team to account for their actions. Your role is to maintain professional customs, enforce ethical practices, meet targets, and manage organisation budgets.
Responsibilities
- Act as a Director of Teenage Helpline with direct oversight of the Board of Directors. Your key responsibility is always to protect and uphold the reputation and principles of the organisation.
- Delegate job activities effectively to ensure optimal performance of all operations departments.
- Design roles as needed and ensure the effective recruitment of individuals to fill those roles successfully.
- Analyse, review, and develop organisation strategies to ensure their ongoing effectiveness and improvement.
- Develop and drive key performance indicators that evaluate the success and effectiveness of Teenage Helpline finances.
- Hold all departments responsible for the financial health of Teenage Helpline accountable for their results.
- Think at a strategic level with the intent to continuously improve and grow the financial health and position of Teenage Helpline and drive industry best practices. Strategic thinking should involve both continuous development and a growth mindset.
- Continue to define the roles and responsibilities of the finance departments at all time to ensure they are suitable for the context that Teenage Helpline is operating in.
- Ensure that all statutory and regulatory reporting is completed.
