Do you want to join a small dynamic team, which is determined to create change, as well as facilitate opportunities for girls who are susceptible to child marriages to thrive and advance their education?

SheRose is offering various fantastic opportunities within different departments. As a small charity, we are looking to increase our organisations capacity, so that we can maximise our impact and the support we provide our beneficiaries.

We are looking for experienced volunteers in the following areas:

Branding and Communications Support

The branding and communications team is responsible for ensuring we have transparency in communicating the work we produce and campaigns we run. The teams work consists of everything from interactive campaigns, sharing educational resources and highlighting activities taking place on the ground in Malawi, in order to share our beneficiaries’ stories and give a voice/ platform to those who often struggle to be heard.

Key Responsibilities/skills –

  • Manage and oversee our website and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn)
  • Innovation around running campaigns in support of our mission/vision
  • Being a key contributor to the Branding and Communications team through research
  • Conducting interviews with key stakeholders in the field
  • Be flexible to attend virtual meetings 
  • Writing and publishing blogs and articles based on the research *
  • Being an advocate for SheRose
  • Supporting any ad-hoc tasks relevant to the role

Fundraising Support

The fundraising team will work to increase funding by networking and building relationships with individuals, as well as groups, who they will support to explore ways of raising funds for the charity.

Key Responsibilities –

  • Organise traditional activities, as well as develop new and imaginative fundraising activities, many of which involve organising events
  • Raise awareness of the charity and its work at local and national levels, e.g. giving talks to groups or seeking photo opportunities with the media
  • Develop and coordinate virtual fundraising events
  • Research various opportunities that could support our fundraising and increase our income generation.
  • Motivate and support our supporters to maximise the funds they raise, an ensure you maintain and develop relationships with them
  • Coordinate engagement drives to recruit and build relationships with new supporters to raise money

 

Grants and Bids Support

The grants team support the charity by researching funding opportunities, as well as writing and submitting grant application on behalf of the charity. Their primary role is to increase the charity’s income through applying for grants from grant making bodies.

Key responsibilities/skills –

  • Scan the landscape for potential funding opportunities suitable with the charity’s objectives.
  • Completing and submitting grant applications on behalf of the charity.
  • Excellent writing skills, particularly around writing persuasive bids
  • Work with the fundraising team to liaise with funders
  • Build and maintain relationships with funders
  • Track all submitted applications
  • Collate ad review all feedback from application, and produce a learning log for future funding.

 

Programmes Development and Delivery Support

The programmes team is responsible for designing developing and coordination the delivery of all our services, through the implementation of project management techniques.

Key responsibilities/ skills –

  • Indepth knowledge of the services the charity are running.
  • Reviewing our programmes to ensure they are fit for purpose.
  • Working closely with local partners and the team in Malawi to ensure clear outline of the programme delivery plans.
  • Developing a risk assessment for our programmes
  • Developing our monitoring and evaluation for our programmes
  • Liaising with local team and local partners to support with monitoring and evaluation
  • Completing impact measurement for our programmes
  • Work closely with the grant team to support applications
  • Project management skills
  • Service design experience

 

Administrative Support

The administrative support will work alongside the director to help complete everyday tasks; as well as support various ad-hoc tasks the other teams might need support with.

Key responsibilities/ skills –

  • Assist the director with writing various policies and documents; therefore, excellent written skills are essential.
  • Support with events and meeting planning (e.g. Trustee meetings)
  • Support with external engagement
    • Supporting with recruiting ambassadors for the charity
    • Scope networking opportunities for the charity
    • Scoping partnership opportunities
  • Provide event planning assistance
  • Support with basic financial management
  • Overseeing the inbox and being the first point of contact
  • Supporting with any other ad-hoc administrative tasks

Overview of roles:

  • Hours: Flexible hours depending on volume of work. However, volunteers must commit to a minimum of 2 hours a week
  • Location: Remote working
  • Salary: Unpaid (voluntary role)
