Job Description

LRMN is a charity organisation providing free services to refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in London. We have 3 main programmes Information and Advice on Immigration, Housing and Welfare; Violence against Women and Girls and Training and Employment. In addition to the main programmes, we run activities which include English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Literacy, Knitting and Sewing classes. LRMN is an active organisation with clients coming from a range of background and nationalities.

We are looking for a passionate and proactive social media and communications volunteer to join our team. As LRMN continues to expand we are seeking to improve our social media presence. This role provides the opportunity for a talented and passionate communicator to improve our visibility and gain invaluable experience.

As a social media and communications volunteer you will play a key role within a small and dynamic team. The successful candidate will be provided with professional support and development opportunities.


  • Regularly update information on Facebook, Twitter and website
  • Maintain and improve our LinkedIn page 
  • Improve our social media presence by expanding our use of social media platforms (ex YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.)
  • Market research and analysis
  • Design our bi-monthly E-Newsletter
  • Prepare material to promote events (leaflets, etc.)

Person Specification


  • Good command of the English language
  • Demonstrable experience of utilising social media in a professional environment
  • Proactive approach
  • Ability to work independently
  • Willingness to learn and be cooperative
  • Commitment to LRMN’s mission and ethos
  • Attention to detail


  • Experience with Mailchimp
  • Knowledge of marketing and advertising theories and practices
  • Experience of working and/or volunteering in the charity sector

We are looking for someone able to commit one day per week - ideally working from the office, but can accommodate people interested in working remotely.
