Main purpose of job: Develop and implement our social media & content strategy in order to increase our online presence and drive engagement

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
 

• Develop a content calendar across all social platforms ensuring a constant supply of relevant content (1 post per week on LinkedIn, Facebook & Instagram – initially)

• Collate content for, prepare and publish the monthly volunteer newsletter through MailChimp

• Identify and engage with key social influencers to create beneficial relationships and strong networks and grow the ADC brand

• Perform social listening across all social platforms by monitoring and responding to relevant brand mentions and identifying opportunities for engaging in related topics/discussions

• Define social media KPIs, measure and optimize social media performance metrics, and develop enhanced reporting

• Manage and oversee social media content

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Essential

 

• 3+ years of experience in social and content management

• Experience using MailChimp or similar software

• Excellent knowledge of Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and other social media platforms

• Experience of forming relationships with key influencers on social media

• Good understanding of SEO metrics and social media KPIs

• Ability to come up with creative content (text, image and video)

• Available to volunteer at least 7 hours a week

• Ability to actively take initiative and help set things up in a start-up environment

• Ability to actively seek and give input in a collaborative team environment

• A committed team player with good communication skills.

Desirable
 

• Experience of establishing online communities on social media

• Experience working in an early stage start-up and gone through a scaling phase

• Passion for the start-up life and comfortable in a role with a little ambiguity

Across the UK, our 270 local groups play a vital part in supporting people affected by MS. They provide sense of belonging, unity and friendship. And they deliver services and support for their local MS community.

We are looking to recruit an Administration Volunteer for the South West Bucks Group. Our Administration Volunteers are the linchpin for our local groups’ activities. They act as the first point of contact and they make sure all relevant information is circulated to other volunteers and members. And they play an important role in keeping our data and details up to date to comply with data protection legislation.

In this role you’ll develop your administration and organisation skills. Most importantly you’ll be help your local group run efficiently, so they can keep providing valuable services to our MS community. 

Time Commitment

We estimate this role will need around 2 hours a week. Our roles are flexible and aim to fit around you. Time commitments for this role may vary depending on your activities. This is an ongoing role.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.

About you

You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally. You will understand the needs of people affected by MS in your area and be sympathetic to the needs and motivations of volunteers. You’ll be confident using Microsoft Office, the internet and email. Ideally you’ll understand the local area and organisations that provide local services.

About the role

After several years of relying on the efforts from our Co-Founders, Trustees and temporary volunteers we are looking to take the next step in our growth journey through the placement of our first longer-term volunteer.

This role will be designed to oversee all marketing and social media activities of the organization, and to provide leadership to a small group of wonderful and talented student volunteers from London based Universities as they complete tactical projects for ParaPride as part of their studies. This will also include supporting Daniele, our Co-Founder and Community Engagement Director, with planning and reporting of their activities to the university.

The leadership you will provide will initially be indirect, with Daniele being ultimately responsible for the students activities, so we expect this to be a wonderful opportunity for a seasoned marketing or social media professional who would like the opportunity to gain team leadership experience. 

Duties

• Advise on how to best grow overall awareness and success of the ParaPride brand.

• Oversee the continuous development of our content creation schedule and distribution of engaging, thought provoking and educational content for our media channels, notably LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

• Provide support and guidance to a small team of student volunteers to develop social media and marketing content that supports the mission, vision and values of ParaPride - directly participating in the creation of content at your discretion. 

• Ad-hoc creation and distribution of promotional assets for ParaPride events.

• Identify and establish potential additional media channels where it is sustainable to do so with the resources available. 

• Maintain the organisations Brand assets and monitor and advise of their use and ensure consistency with our established tone of voice in written content. 

• Build partnerships with social media brand ambassadors/influencers to support content creation and brand awareness.

We will also welcome any additional suggestions for how you might wish to apply your skills to support ParaPride in its mission.

Level of commitment

We are a growing charity and while it is our goal to provide financial compensation for this role in the future, we are unable to initially. In full transparency, this is only an indication of our ambition and will be dependent on a lot of factors linked to appropriate funding. The IMB is recruiting for new members at numerous prisons and at immigration detention centres across England and Wales, and at short term holding facilities across the UK.  We are looking for people who live within approximately 30 miles (or one hour) of their closest establishment and can commit the time to make 2 to 3 visits per month, although this may be slightly higher during the first year of training and this can be flexible depending on the needs of the Board and the individual. We provide mental health support to the underserved and underprivileged community. We aim to provide safe spaces for all, breaking barriers in mental health and advocate for Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion. We are also working to train future generations along with eradicate stigma in behavioral health.

FUNDRAISING VOLUNTEER

• To offer help with securing grants and donations that will allow us to work/bring services to those that can't afford to pay for them. These grants also will allow us to bring more mental health services.
• Volunteer 4-6 hours per week for 6 months

We provide mental health support to the underserved and underprivileged community. We aim to provide safe spaces for all, breaking barriers in mental health and advocate for Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion. We are also working to train future generations along with eradicate stigma in behavioral health.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

• Making appealing materials, including information on what we do, what we charge and how to sign up for services with purposes of getting traffic and getting clients.
• Volunteer 2-3 hours per week for 1-2 months.

Volunteers needed for Romsey Kurling Club.

Our volunteers are integral to our community clubs, and we need volunteers to help at our Kurling Club at Age Concern Hall, Linden Road, in Romsey. Our weekly club runs on Tuesdays, 10:00am – 11:30pm. All necessary training will be provided. Volunteers in our clubs can benefit from gaining confidence, making new friends, learning new skills, all whilst having fun. Join our friendly team today!

Coping with a diagnosis of a terminal or life-limiting illness involves painful feelings, coming to terms with loss and making adjustments in life. 

We are looking for volunteers to offer emotional and/or bereavement support either in a group setting through facilitation of support groups, or on one to one individual basis. You will be helping people to explore their feelings and adapt to their new life after a diagnosis or the death of a loved one. 

This role is supporting patients and families who are over 18 only.

Your role will include some of, but is not restricted to, the following tasks:

• Provide emotional and/or bereavement support either in the hospice, in a small group setting, over the phone or at the person’s home, according to local resources.
• Actively listen to clients and explore their feelings around the diagnosis/loss with empathy 
• Pass on appropriate information to your line manager.
• Complete appropriate documentation as required in line with our confidentiality (service user) policy.
• Assist staff in the Patient and Family Support team when necessary 
• Adhere to hospice record keeping procedures 
• Assist with other related tasks when necessary
