Our vision is to help build communities that save lives and serve each other through volunteering for health and first aid.
St John provides first aid and ambulance cover at thousands of events a year but our frontline clinical volunteers rely on their Operational Support colleagues - could you be one of them?
As a Communications and Media Volunteer, you will be part of a small group which will help raise awareness of St John in the East Region, identifying good news stories, writing and sending out news releases to the media and answering enquiries from journalists. Working principally with the External Communications team and reporting to the Regional External Communications Officer, you will be trained to write news stories and deal with the media. This is a great opportunity not only to continue shaping the way that St John is perceived by the public and other target audiences through your proactive work, but also to learn a new and valuable set of transferable communications skills.
This is an initial three-month pilot scheme, beginning in March, which has the potential to become a long-term volunteering opportunity.
The closing date for this opportunity is Sunday 23rd February 2020.
